We will be visiting Stratford, On in mid-June for my daughters high school picnic and appointment with the guidance office. She is taking high school on line with AMDEC. Does anyone know a clean, safe, inexpensive motel for two nights. We are planning on attending at least one play.

You have so many choices in Stratford! Here is my top choices for motels although Arden Park is a nice, modern (highrise) hotel that is not far from the Festival theatre.

As You Like it Motel
Stratford Suburban Motel
Victoria Inn on the Park (more of a hotel)
Festival Inn
Swan Motel

All of these are not right downtown but within minutes from it and from the theatres. If you go to the city of stratford tourism website and click on accomodations they have pictures of them.

Have a great time in Stratford! The shows this year look very promising! While you are there stop by my store "The Holiday Store" in downtown Stratford.

We were just near Nepean last weekend - a long drive!

If you need any more help let me know!

Thanks, I looked at the Tourism site and though most looked good, you are never sure. It is ususally better to ask a local. We don't have our dates yet but we will drop in to see you. Were you in Ottawa for Winterlude? How many hours to drive each way? We just drove non-stop from Orlando to Ottawa a few weeks ago. It was looooooooong!

Actually we were visiting friends who have a farm on the Ottawa River north of Renfrew. We had planned to go into Ottawa for Winterlude but then had our own fun on the river and snowmobiling in Quebec so the time got away from us. For us to drive there it was about 6 hours (if you don't stop). Last time I drove to Ottawa it was probably about 7. I don't live right in Stratford but about 1/2 hour away. If you are taking the 401 you still will have a drive north to get to the town.

Ottawa to Florida would be a painfully long drive! We are leaving in 2 weeks and flying simply because we do not have the extra 4 days to spend driving.

Anyway - any other questions please let me know.

We live about 45 minutes Northeast of Stratford, and most places in the City are excellent.Festival Inn is just as you enter the city, and is quite nice.
We just drove to Orlando in November (with 2 kids under 8), and it actually wasn't a bad drive. If you do drive, buy the book 'Along the I75', it was well worth it, listing hotels, cheap gas, and lane changes. Enjoy Stratford, it is a beautiful little city.
