OT - Pediatric Dentistry?

Ask around in your area about the pediatric dentists that are near you. There are only 3 in our immediate area and only two are really recommended. They do very well with kids--from the waiting room down to the actual procedures. They are geared towards kids and making it a pleasant experience. My kids love to go to the dentist, even when work is pending. I would never take my kids to any type of dentist but a pediatric dentist, even though none in my area take our dental insurance. So worth it to pay more out of pocket.

And don't beat yourself up over the cavity. I have 4 kids. One's an infant w/o teeth, so he doesn't count, but the other 3... One I have to fight with to brush his teeth. Doesn't brush them well (a tween, so he's on his own there now), but has never had a cavity. Has major overcrowding in his teeth, so a fortune on braces, but no cavities. One has perfect, wonderful teeth, but is such a dare devil--he has two false teeth! My third, loves to brush, eats healthy, etc. But he has a genetic condition (from me) that his teeth are soft and he is prone to a lifetime of getting cavities easily, and yellowing, no matter what great habits he has. Just like mom. The dentist reassures us that there is a good chance that his adult teeth won't be as bad and sometimes, it isn't even present in permanent teeth. However, because it is in my teeth, I'm not holding out high hopes. Anyhow, he's only 4 and is having a root canal next month--they'll be completely putting him out, partly because he is also on the autism spectrum, but mainly so he doesn't feel any pain.
