Need yr advice guys. Just been talking to my Mum and she says she thinks I should email DLRP about the service we received in the DLH at the start of our stay i.e. no cot in the room (we arrived at 7.20 pm and DD2 was already beside herself with tiredness), and waiting an hour for our luggage despite me ringing to chase it up (I need sheets and stuff for cot!)....

What would you do? Would you bother? I do think they should be pulled up about this kind of thing esp as it supposedly their 'best' hotel in the resort.

PS - Maybe I should also mention the dead plants around the corridors that were left for days on end? :rotfl2: And the fact that you now get a poured 'cup' of coffee/tea at breakfast as opposed to a 'cafetiere' left on your table like last year :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Patsy i complained about the service there, and if what happened to you happened to me i would complain again. I waited over 4 hours for them to bring my luggage to the room i was not impressed, found the CM's rude and completley uniformed which lead to me arguing with the Disney express guy on the return leg home.

Its a shame that standards seem to be slipping esp in the DLH, these little things have made me think twice about booking there again.

I'll be honest, we stayed in Newport bay, and while last time it was fantastic this time we were very unhappy, we have complained but needless to say we'll be staying elsewhere in future :sad2:

Emma - I have to agree to some extent. I honestly did not go looking for 'issues' but did seem to notice them- I didn't notice any last time at all. I mean you don't expect to see dead plants (and I mean like completely drooping over their pots!) for days on end - maybe I should have reported it - I saw it on two different levels by the lifts. Not good!

The hotel was busy but not peak busy so there wasn't an excuse and the lack of cot and luggage meant one tired and screaming baby. It also meant us being much later into the park than we'd hoped (Mum stayed behind to keep an eye on DD2 asleep, while the rest of us went into the park)....

Good Evening everyone, I've got no ceiling in the kitchen, had a stroppy electrician but I got him sorted!
So what rollercoasters did you brave, Small World?

Evening Diane - :scared1: about your kitchen

Ive just been reminded that I did 3 not 2. I did the Runaway mine train (similar to BTM but milder) which is the one I forgot. Also Rattlesnake and Vampire. I wasnt too sure if I wanted to do vampire or not but after queuing for 45mins decided Id be brave enough to do it and actually found it better than Rattlesnake.
I also loved the logflume - I did that twice

However Im still not as brave as you Diane as Ive still not done an upside down one

Diane - missed about your kitchen ceiling - what a nightmare. Hope you get it sorted asap :scared1:

Small World - I'd love to go to Chessington some time. If DH does end up 'down south' with work next year it will be nice to try some places down that way - I've got my eye on Legoland too :thumbsup2 And of course London Zoo! :)

I think unless they are told about these things then how can they improve there service.

I didn't want to complain but those things that happened to me really upset me, I was so terrified i wasnt going to get my luggage back etc. I was grateful they sent DD a present to say sorry about the balloon mixup.

I'm really worried about using the Disney express service again in 2 weeks, i keep having nightmares about my luggage-crazy i know :rotfl:

I am very impressed with you Small World, well done!
As for my kitchen, this has been going on since our return from DLP (we had a leak whilst we were away, lovely to come back to all the damage!) - course I've been off for 6 weeks and when do they decide to start the work? Yes as soon as I go back!
Anyhow, ceiling now taken out, electric has been sorted thanks to my cousin who is an absolute star! Hopefully on Monday the plaster board will be up, it will be plastered and then they have the decorator booked in from Wednesday - then my cousin will come and fit the new spotlights, all I have to do after that is get the flooring sorted, the insurance won't cover it as it's carpet and they say it's enough just to send someone to clean it. The carpet has been down for over 15 years and it needs replacing so I've told them not to bother!

Patsys wasnt Disney Express though was it as she travelled by plane

Diane - I feel dizzy just reading about your trials with the kitchen :lmao: Hope you manage to get it sorted asap - whenever insurance is involved you can guarantee it will take foooooreeever!!!! :scared1:

Small World - no it was just the hotel, from front door to our room door :confused3 I don't think I've ever waited an hour for my luggage to arrive in any hotel - last year it took them about 3 mins after we got into the room :)

Now that me holidays out of the way I'm on to xmas!!:cool1::cool1: Only 111 days to go!! :cool1:I really want to take the kids to London to Harrods to see Santa as I think it will be aso magical but DH says no!:lmao::rotfl2:

I really want to go see Santa at harrods, but think it will be a Bluewater job this year. The Santa we met at DLRP twice didnt speak English :rotfl2: So much for being bi-lingual :lmao: So i dont hold much hope that he will speak English in November either.

Oh no, no English!!! :scared1: :lmao: I have a hard enough time trying to placate my 4 year old why the characters don't speak!!! Santa not speaking English would really throw her :rotfl2:

Hmm not sure what we are doing this year for Santa visit - we've tried a few different things.... Something without queues will be good - OR we leave DD2 behind at home :rotfl2::lmao:

PS - shhhh - I did price up a v quick two day DLRP trip for Christmas (am determined to get sometime) but it would be a Friday & Saturday which is really not appealing after this week. I had decided we'd leave DD2 with my Mum and just take DD1...... However prices with flights are looking silly so probably not this year :sad1:

Why does DD1 have to go to school!! Stamps foot!!!!

When Kyra tried to talk to him, he just smiled and nodded his head :rotfl2: he clearly had no idea what she was talking about :lmao:

I will be saying the same thing as you next year Patsy about school. Everything is going to be more expensive.

Bit like the characters then that just put their hand over their mouths like they are giggling whenever a child says anything to them :lmao: DD1 was trying to ask Mickey how old he was (on his birthday!) and he just kept giggling :rotfl2::rotfl2: I had to distract her in the end :rolleyes1

:lmao:

Kyra asked me the other day if the characters are real, i was like what makes you think that and she said some of them don't speak to her :lmao:
