My family will be taking a quick trip to Oklahoma City this weekend and we were considering taking the kids to White Water Bay. Anyone been??? Is it typically super crowded? Is it worth going?? Any thoughts and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

We were in OKC to meet up and visit with some friends around the Fourth of July, and White Water Bay is one place we visited. It is your typical waterpark and had a nice variety of rides and attractions. Not the nicest waterpark I've ever been too, and by no means the worst. We went on a Thursday, and it was pretty crowded...especially in the small children areas. Some of the lines to the bigger slides were pretty long. I would imagine the weekends would be even more crowded. I wouldn't make a special trip to OKC just to go back, but if I was in town, and wanted to do a waterpark, I would probably go again.

Our friends did find some discounts locally - I think they may be available at either McDonalds or 7-11s. I want to say it was several dollars of an adult admission. Also, I think you can buy tickets online on the website for a few dollars off ahead of time.

I don't know what your other plans are, but we really enjoyed walking around Bricktown. That area downtown is super nice with good restaurants. We ended up spending two evenings there. I hope you have a nice trip!

I don't really like water parks, so I don't go to many, but I think this is a pretty good one. I've probably been 6 times or so and I don't remember it ever being too crowded. I don't know when you are coming to OKC, but tomorrow (7/31) night they have their "Dive-In Movie" At 8:00pm you can get into the park for $10 per person and watch Transformers while floating in the wave pool. You could go check it out and watch a movie for relatively cheap. If you like it, you could go back. If not, you could go to Frontier City which is more like Six Flags, but definitely smaller. There is also a Celebration Station nearby that has bumber boats, go carts, mini-golf, etc. If you need any help with directions just let me know.

My nephews just turned 10 and I hate how huge white water bay is. I live in Edmond which is a suburb on the north side of the city. We go to the local water park/pool. Pelican Bay. two small water slides, a short float river/whirlpool/, a rockwall, diving boards, pool, kids area. It's so small that I can sit in one place and see him wherever.

I figure I got about 2 years before they realize that white water is much bigger and better LOL

This might be an acceptable alternative depending on your kids ages and where you're staying in the city, if you didn't want to hit WWB.

ps....we are forcasted for rain this weekend, we've been staying in the 80's and 90's.
