I was wondering is there walk in clinics in NS?

We are heading there for 2 weeks this summer and I was having a conversation with dh...my dd's are rather prone to colds with change in temperatures...He hasn't been "home" to NS in many years and only recall's having to go to Emergency for health problems if you can't get into your family doc...

Just checking if there are as if there are not we will have our doctor here give us prescriptions for when we're away just in case.

Thanks

Yes, there are walk-in clinics in NS.

There are walk in clinics here. As a matter of fact, that is usually where we go. Our doctor's are very busy here and sometimes it can take a while to get in to see your own family doctor, so for things that need to be seen right away, but aren't an emergency, we usually go to a walk in.

I didn't happen to notice where you are from? I don't know what the protocal is for going to a walk in if you aren't from here. We usually just have to show our provincial health card.

They charge $30 to go to a walk in clinic in NS without a Nova Scotian MSI card, and there are TONS of walk in clinics around.

We've used our Ontario Health Card many times over the years at walk in clinics in Nova Scotia. We have never paid out of pocket.

We charge a bit more than that here in Calgary for Quebec residents but the rest of the provinces are covered by their health care here...

I'm glad to hear that ontario works there I would imagine alberta does too....

Thank you! it's the same way here in calgary AB for wait times for our family doc's. Here if you are out of province you are covered unless you're from Quebec.... (those people from quebec must hate not being included!)

Thank you! I might just see our doc here before we go anyhow so we don't have to wait there "just in case" lol
