OT: Northeast Snowstorm

I was really excited for the storm :rotfl: but it keeps changing. One minute snow, one minute ice, one minute snow and ice and then next I hear is nothing. Now, it has changed apparently to snow and ice. :rotfl2: These weathermen drive me insane. I live in Northeast NJ and I was so exxxxxcited for the snow haha. I just like one storm per year; just to get that wintery feel. It hasn't snowed a single bit here in NJ (which is good for lots of people) but needless to say I'm quite disappointed. I'm hoping it changes to all snow! Let's hope so!

"Oh little snow god so pure and bright, please let it snow like anything tonight! hahahahaha!" :rotfl:

Yea, they can't seem to make up their minds what it's going to do... I guess only time will tell... it's looking like snow outside and it's getting colder...

I like your little prayer to the snow gods... hope it works... :rotfl:

I'm in Pittsburgh and we've gotten about 5 inches so far, ice now, then more snow later. I was looking forward to the first BIG snow fall, I was getting sick and tired of getting half an inch every day. I'm such a dork, I kept checking weather.com all day.

DF drove me to and from my bus stop today which was really nice.

It actually looks pretty icy outside right now.

I guess I should go change out of my shorts and put on some pants. It is cold here in Arizona...hee hee. You guys can keep that snow. It is suppose to be 75 on Friday.

Take it. I hate it! We're expected to get 10-14in tonight, and I don't get the luxury of having classes called off. :sad2: Snow comes down and we still have to risk life and limb to drive to work and the stupid apartment complex never plows good enough so it means pushing my car out of the parking lot!

I hear you! I had a 4 hour commute home tonight from work. :headache: The roads were terrible. I'm taking a snow day tomorrow :) . I told my boss if she wants me to come in, she can come pick me up. She declined and then said she'll be taking the day off too. :rotfl:

We have been snowed in at our house! We're in central Indiana...it SUCKS!! I don't mind the snow, but I don't like being snowed in. DH and I couldn't get to work today due to a blizzard warning for our county. Poor DH has been outside three times now shoveling the driveway and it doesn't even look like he's done anything. The wind is fierce and there's a layer of ice covering the snow. It's rock hard...and it's still not done!! They're saying more accumulation is expected overnight...I've lived in Indiana for 16 1/2 years now and I have never seen it snow this badly!

I'm hoping that tomorrow will be better! I'm very nervous about driving to work in the morning...

I pray that you guys don't get hammered as bad as we did!

Oooh where in Central NJ? I live in Central NJ, but work in NYC and we haven't seen anything here yet :(

HI!! I am about 20 minutes outside of Princeton. I work in East Windsor. It started snowing....then turned to freezing rain :sad1: I knew it was suppose to but still.....I wanted snow dang it! Now we have like an inch of slush out there- it's ugly

I'm about 20 minutes outside of NYC and we're getting lots and lots of ice here. Work is delayed until at least 10am, and everyone keeps calling to tell me how bad the roads are. Be careful everyone! :grouphug:

omg, I"m sick of the snow! I live in Syracuse and it wasn't really all that bad but this morning was horrible getting out of the parking lot! half of the people I work with aren't here today because of the weather.. so I"m sitting in the office all alone this morning! :cool1:

I moved here from texas and man, I am NOT used to this! :sad2:

it took my DF ten minutes to shovel the snow this morning and I asked him "see? wouldn't you rather live somewhere where you don't have to worry about this and shoveling anymore?" lol.

ooh, I miss texas.. where you can wear flip flops nearly year round. *le sigh* :sad1:

Boston's not so bad - yet! Only about and inch or so where I'm at. I'm about 15 min in no traffic to Downtown. A lot of the people I work with are W@H today but my husband wouldn't let me wuss out! And, even made me drive to the train for practice (I grew up in Northern CA so I don't have as much practice and confidence driving in the snow as my DH who grew up in NY) 'cause he figured there wouldn't be too many people out there - the schools in our town are closed. I worry more about later this afternoon because it's supposed to switch to rain and then I worry about ice!

We had snow here in the MTNS of East TN and its still laying on the ground. Im quite surprised because last night DH and I were out until 11:00 in 60 degree weather!! How in the world did it drop so drastically and yet stick? They didnt call of very many schools around here though. DH loves the snow-- id rather see the sun come back out and get tanning weather again!:beach:

As gross as it is - sometimes I do love this weather. Here was the view from my office yesterday afternoon...

The ice that feel last night though, left a coat of slippery mess on top of the snow - I almost slid right down the steps this morning!!

My work is just south of Boston and we are getting sleet & freezing rain. Probably got an 1" of snow and this is on top of it. Big old yucky mess!

Ok, so about an inch of snow fell and then about 3 inches of sleet/freezing rain. Ugh!! Still made for a mess. All the schools were closed in our areas and the towns did a horrible job of cleaning up the streets. They're still not clean. And they say we'll get some more snow... but not enough to make me happy. What happened to these big accumulations? I get so mad at the weather men/women sometime because they hype everything up and then go... just kidding. :confused3 Boneheads. Oh well... something tells me this is it for this year... bummer...

We ended up getting so much ice here that my office closed completely. They still haven't cleaned the streets by me and I've heard the Parkway is a MESS.

LOTS of snow here! i'd say we have about 14 inches already maybe another inch or so will fall before its done. All of the counties around me are in a state of emergency with lots of closed roads and such. I say as long as it has to be cold bring on the snow. Only it takes me away from my baby on V-day. Its ok its just another day right? I'll totally be having a ball playing in the snow this weekend. Can't wait!

Everything was such a huge mess! Ice, snow, slush, wind.. ugh. I had to trudge out to work this morning at 7:30 (one of the many perks of being a jersey girl! :lmao: lol thank god class was cancelled! I wouldn't have driven anyway though :rolleyes1.. My DB has rescheduled V'day! :sad1: Mother Nature works in wonderful ways! haha. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe evening! :dance3:
