OT - Need P&PD please

I am glad you have talked to your son & will be seeing him first hand at dinner time. My thoughts & prayers are with everyone.

I will add my positive thoughts and prayers for you. Sounds like you'll get to see him soon~~~which, at this point, is probably what you need most! Best wishes! :grouphug:

Well, I hope he'll be able to take it easy for a few days! What a stressful day! Hope you were able to get over to see him tonight.

We just got back - DH was really late coming home from work. :( So he didn't want to stay long - just drop dinner & leave. Now he's out grilling burgers for us & I've got the rest of dinner organized.

DS looked much worse than I thought he would. He's obviously in pain & barely moving. He was much better after the initial surgery. I guess that's to be expected. He has no staples or regular stitches - just tape holding him together.

He said they removed 600 - 700 ml out of it! And this time he has to keep the drain for another week instead of a couple days.

I've decided I really don't like my kids hurting! ;) I can't even imagine if either of them needed serious surgery....since this was supposed to be "simple" - ha! I'm not sure if it's any better knowing than it was this morning just imagining! You know? I was hoping to go see him & have him laugh at me for worrying like he did last week.

Thanks again for all your :grouphug: and caring! I really appreciated it and you kept me sane today knowing that so many of my friends were keeping good thoughts & prayers for us!

I'm so sorry that your visit did not put you at ease. Will continue prayers. :grouphug:

I'm glad that your DS is home and resting. I will keep you and your family in my prayers! :grouphug:

Thanks again everyone!

DS seems better today...so maybe it was just the after affects of the anesthesia yesterday. :confused3 He still can't go to work & he's not supposed to lift anything over 10lbs for a month. So the financial aspect & being stuck in the house are weighing on his mind, but at least he's doing better physically!

hey deb!

i hope your son is continuing to heal - just wanted to let you know you have been in my thoughts and prayers

Wasn't online over the long weekend and just saw this. Hope by now the healing is progressing well and he is at least on his feet. Obviously Mom isn't going to stop worrying anytime soon so just to let you know that hugs and pixie dust are still flowing your way! :grouphug: :grouphug:
Deb

Deb - Glad to hear he was doing better as of Saturday. Hope he's continuing to improve!

Well, I took him to his doctor's appt today & had the drain removed - again. The test results finally came back - benign, which is excellent! The doctor released him - as in he doesn't need to be seen again unless there's a problem...but he's still in a lot of pain. :( He was hoping to go back to his PT desk job this afternoon, but wasn't able to...maybe tomorrow. (Although I have to say if he's in as much pain tomorrow as he was today I can't see what use he'll be. :confused3 ) He won't be returning to his teaching job (TKD) for some time yet...and that's his real love.

Thanks again for all your support & prayers. :) I can't begin to tell you how much it has meant to me to come here & find y our messages of support. :grouphug:

Thanks for keeping us posted Deb! I'm so glad that it was benign. Hope he feels better soon, though!!

thanks for posting another update - i am glad to hear that he is on the road to mending!

i will continue to keep your entire family in my prayers - and i guess i can part with some more pixie dust - just for you . . .

I haven't had time to read the boards with the long weekend, and family life. I am so sorry to hear your son is going through so much. Hugs to you and him. I will remember him in my prayers today and hope he is doing much better soon.

Cindy

I'm sorry I'm just getting to this post but I'm glad to see a good update!

Deb - Just wanted to see how the recovery was going. Hope your son's feeling better and healing quickly!

Well, today was the first time he didn't need a ride to work, so I'm guessing he's recovering nicely. It's funny - he doesn't talk much more at 24 than he did at 16. I was getting the same thing - "Oh Mom, I'm fine" - whether he was in pain & couldn't move his arm without it hurting or he was running across the yard to get in the car. Kids! LOL

Thanks for asking!

im so glad to hear that he is further down the road to recovery!! are all the staples out now?

Glad to hear everything is moving in a good direction. Thoughts and prayers still going your way.
