OT: Need ideas for a fun christmas gift exchange

My family does a gift exchange every year and we exchange on Christmas Eve. This year, my sister and her dh won't be in till Christmas. I was looking for something fun to still do on Christmas Eve. There will be 7 of us at our party on Christmas. I was thinking about setting a $5 limit, since this is in addition to our other gift exchange. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it fun???

I am in a similar situation and have also set a $5.00 limit. This might work for you, unless you do not agree with gambling and/or combining it with the holidays. Since the real gift exchange is on Christmas Day, the 12 of us have agreed to buy (5) $1.00 instant lotto tickets. (Support Ohio schools .) All of the tickets will be put into one stocking. You can decide to do one of two things:

1.) Each person pulls out 5 tickets and hopes for the best.

OR

2.) Each person rolls a die. What ever number he/she rolls will determine how many tickets they get to pull out of the stocking. Once everyone gets a roll, the remaining tickets are given as a second chance to those that did not win on their initial tickets. This will only work if each person DOES NOT roll a 6.
