:cool1: Dh and I are off for a weekend alone....no kids...this weekend. I will be happy about that until the second day and then I'll be ready to come home to them. :lovestruc

We are staying in Wildwood Crest, but will visit Cape May. Someone, somewhere gave me the name of a restaurant that has great views of the ocean or bay and I think it started with an "H". I even went to their website and checked it out and everything, but now I cannot find the email or the link to the website. ARgh!

So if anyone has any recommendations for restaurants in Cape May, whether they start with an "H" or not, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!:cutie:

I had a really good meal at the Boathouse.
But you can get a really good Cheeseburger atthe "ugly mug" Washington square mall Capemay
The best pizza (IMO)is onthe Wildwood Boardwalk. Mack'sPizza 2locations.I go down just to have pizza for dinner.

Have A GREAT time!

Wildwood -- The Wharf and Lighthouse Pointe both have earlybird specials and their food is really good. Urie's is also pretty good, especially seafood, but can get crowded.

Cape May -- The Mad Batter, does breakfast as well as dinner; Lobster House is also very good. I think the place you're describing is Sunset Bay. I've heard good things but never been.

Have a great weekend. Be careful, though, because there is a storm predicted and Saturday could be nasty.

I have heard that the Washington Inn is very good. I haven't been there myself, but one of my coworkers went there for his anniversary and both he and his wife thought it was really good.

My uncle's wedding reception was at the Lobster House, and it was very nice IMO. I didn"t get to see the restaurant part, only the reception hall, but food was good.

Menz, I think its in Wildwood. The food is pretty good. As for Cape May there are so many nice restaurants I would google it, sorry I can't remember any names.

I will second Menz's. It is in Rio Grand, the next town over the bridge out of Wildwood. My family has a summer place in Wildwood and we go to Menz's every year. The food is really good and it is a fun place...http://www.menzrestaurant.com/

And for lunch in Cape May go to Tommy's Hot Dogs. He is a local celebrity. DD and I love the frozen sodas...http://www.hotdogtommys.com/hotdogtommys.htm

OP here. Well, the Lobster House I have heard of. In fact, I have heard of it too much. Everytime my Mom and sisters and I went down to Wildwood (haven't been in a few years) they always had to eat there! I think I am sick of the Lobster House, as in I almost can taste the food without even walking in the door. :scared1: It was not bad, but I think it was way overpriced for what you got - and we had to either eat at 5pm, which is too early for me, or wait 2 hours because they do not take reservations.

I am checking out the other recommendations - anybody else want to share some good experiences with restaurants?:cutie:

We were in Cape May for a wedding at Congress Hall over Memorial Day weekend. The catered food at Congress Hall was amazingly good...would have never thought it was "wedding food" at all.

The rehearsal dinner was at Althea's and was decent and we also ate at an Italian place in West Cape May that was pretty good as well.

Our favorite meal though was at a BAR! The Ugly Mug. It was right on the closed off street a couple of blocks off the beach. Their sea scallops were to DIE for!

Enjoy!

I think the restaurant you are thinking of is Henry's. It is located right on the beach. We stayed at the Avondale - right across the street from it. If it is Henry's, the food there is awesome!

I enjoy Cape May! We love it there!

I go down there every Autumn for the fall migration. A great website for the town is capemaytimes dot com.
I persnally can't live without breakfast at Uncle Bill's pancake house right across the street from the beach...
Have a great time.

410 Bank Street for dinner. I like McGlades on the Boardwalk's breakfasts very much. We always go to the Lobster House, take out as well as the little cafe!
