OT: National Consumer Panel

Anyone here participate as a panelist for the National Consumer Panel? It's a Neilsen panel (yes, as in the company that does tv ratings) and you just have to track all of the shopping you do, use their scanner they send you to scan in all of your purchases and how much you spend and you get points to redeem for rewards.

I signed up for it at the beginning of May and was notified 3 weeks later that I was selected. Then I just received my hand held scanner over the weekend.

Just wondering if anyone here on the DIS participates, how long you've been doing it and how long it takes to rack up points for the rewards.

I am part of the panel, you only get points 1x a week for all your shopping, I have been doing it for a couple of months and it is honestly not worth it in my opinion. It is too big of a hassle for me for the very little rewards you get. It will take a year by my caculations to get a prize worth a $100. I have calling and cancelling on my to do list. I wish you luck, I hope you get a better return on the time invested.

It is time consuming! I just entered 3 receipts last night -- my first time doing this, and you have to enter every single detail. It would be so much easier if we could do it on the computer. And now I'm going to have to keep up with what coupons I use for each shopping trip.

I'm going to keep with it and see if I can manage it for a few months.

I got the chills just reading what you have to do. I am way too private to give that much information away.
I don't even give my real name with the shopping cards!
