OT: My son's Nemo Room

Really beautiful! I have never done anything so lavish, but my DSthen2 was so thrilled when he got a big boy bed with Bob the Builder bedding and a poster on his wall, so I can only imagine the reaction you got from your boy with all of this! :sunny:

My friend's DH is also an artist, and when they moved to a new house (and were re-painting all the rooms), he decided to do something special for their DD5. She chose flowers and butterflies and ladybugs, I think, for the walls, but asked if she could have the planets and stars on the ceiling. So her dad made the walls fade into darkness toward the ceiling, and painted a gorgeous set of brightly colored planets and shooting stars and so forth. And her big dome light was in the middle, so he painted beautiful sunrays around it, really well done!

Cool job!
Looks VERY good!!!

I'll drop ya a link to our extreme home with the new (almost completed) Disney kitchen if your interested. One never has too many ideas!

Sorry- I meant to respond to this in my last post. I would love to see you Disney Kitchen! Please share your link!

Oh WOW, that is gorgeous!!! I would love for one of my boys to have that room. I don't know how much these types of things typically cost, but $600 seems like a great price to me. Where do you live?? :scratchin

How beautiful!

My older 3 girls have their own rooms and I could never get away with murals because their tastes are so fickle. I might paint a mural just for me and my office! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you shared the pictures...the murals are amazing! Your little guy should feel very special having those to look at every day. :goodvibes

That is so cool! What a neat room to grow up in.

For all of you who can't get an artist you can still do a mural, use a projector or one of the projectors you get at the craft store that you just set on top of a picture. Outline it on the wall and paint with acrylics. My friend did her son's room this way with nursery rhyme characters and it turned out so cute!

Thank for sharing this idea! I might get brave enough to try it one day. It sounds like I could actually do this....maybe!

Beautiful!!!! I wonder if you could find a light that casts waves on the walls/ceilings. Then he would really be "under the sea".

The room looks amazing!!! Your boys are really sweet :)

Wow!!! And I think $600 is a DEAL!!! That had to be a ton of work! That is just absolutely amazing. My almost 3 DS would LOVE it!

It's amazing - now I WANT ONE! :teeth:
Your DS is VERY lucky to have such a cool room!
