OT: My DD sent out a really nice letter to her teachers

My DD13 just finished up school yesterday and since she'll be going to a new school next year, sent out a letter to all her former teachers. It's short, but for an eighth grader to do that on her own on the first day of Summer, I thought it came out really nice.

As a teacher, those are the things that reinforce for me why I do what I do even when it is stressful. I had a letter in my mailbox the other day from a girl I had 3 years ago that is moving on to the middle school. It made me cry and I've reread it about 20 times since Monday. I'm sure your daughter's teachers had a smile on their face when receiving the letter from her.

I just finished up my first year of teaching, and I'm working a Summer Camp. Two days ago I received a very nice thank you note from a camper I helped out for a day last week when she was sick. I was happy that I was able to help...especially when her parents were all the way in Maine...and we're in Florida! I had NO sleep the night before, so we stopped at Starbucks during our travels...and she said "Starbucks makes all the pain go away!" LOL! Thanks for encouraging your daughter to be kind and appreciative. I think the world can use a lot more of that!
