OT - MPs mailing christmas cards

for some reason I got a christmas card in the mail from my MP, I just thought it was a ridiculous waste of money as they sent it without a stamp. Personally I think there should be some way that you can say if you wish to be contacted by your MP or not.

I sympathize. We get unwanted mailings from our MP too. Really irritating, but free mail (at least within Canada) is one of the perks of being an MP. Could you send it back to your MP with the notation, "Junk mail" on it?

I thought of that after I had already recycled that. One of the worst offenders of that actually was Jack Layton, his office used to mail out monthly reports on how our libriael MP was voting, along party lines and not voting "how they should".

we get it every year the mass mail out from our MP

I have received mailings from our mp but it usually only happens on the year I take my passport to his office for renewal.
