I bought a Discovery Girl mag I think we'll subscribe to. They didn't have American Girl at our bookstore, but I'll keep looking.

DG looks a lot like what I'm trying to find.

Another vote for American Girl! The first issue came out when I was around 11 and my grandma gave me subscription for my bday. I read it until I was about 13 before outgrowing it. Man, I loved that magazine and couldn't wait to get it in the mail. I hope it's still popular and available when my DD is about that age. It's great!
