My mom bought my 4 yo ds a leapster for his birthday along with a Diego game and a nemo game. I am thinking of buying him one more game for our trip, any suggestions?

The Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends game is super cute and a lot of fun, but it might be too advanced for a 4 yo. (I can't remember the ages on it.)

The NASCAR game is fun, also.

Check out your local K-Mart. My son's teacher told me last night that she gets all of the Leapster games for his class at K-Mart because they mark them down pretty often. You might check your local store, because you might be able to get a good deal!

I'm starting to think I am the only one completely underwhelmed with the Leapster. Santa brought it for my 4 year old, and he's played with it only a handful of times and quickly lost interest in each game he tried.

He has the L-Max with the Cars, Nemo, Diego, and Letters on the Loose games. All of which may be on e-bay soon.

DD has it and loves it! She has the Cars, Princess, letters and a couple of other games for it. It was a great time passer for her on the plane, and when we were delayed at MCO!!

My 4yo son likes the thomas and Cars game. Overall though, he's never been that interested. I have about 14 games and none hold his attention for more than a few minutes. For the last couple of years, the leapster games were buy 1 get 1 free after christmas, so that's how I ended up with so many. But I don't buy them anymore, because of the lack of sustained interest.

my dd loves hers. we have petpals, madagascar, spongebob and backyardagens..pet pals gets used most often..

Pet Pals is probably the most favorite here as well. The rest go in spurts - the puzzle game, Letter Factory, Ratatouille, and of course the Princesses.

Both my guys love Animal Genius... They have learned so much about animals from it and they "think" they are just playing a game they love:thumbsup2

My boys love the leapster. Most played... NASCAR, talking word factory, animal genius, kindergarten.
It definately goes in spurts of interest. We have two, the L-max and the original.

I must say my son loves his leapster. I realize its new and all but he has a very short attention span and this seems to hold his attention for long periods (took it to run errands today and it was a life saver) He loves the nemo game alot more than the diego one. I will check the games you all suggested. I thought the cars one looked interesting but it says its for k-2 and I didnt want to get something that might be to hard for him.

These are my 4 year olds favorites in order.
Pet Pals, Backyardigans,Nascar,Learn to draw and write, letter factory. We have others but these are his favs.

DS 4 is getting one in his Easter basket. We've been wanting to get him one for awhile and had thought about it at Christmas but bought him a VSmile learning system instead. He loves his VSmile so I have no doubt that he'll love this and it will keep him entertained while we are flying to Orlando next month. Glad I saw this thread because I haven't purchased any games yet but need to in the next few days.

Thanks for the heads up about games 4 yr olds like!

My dd loves Learn to Draw & Write, Pet Pals and Princesses. She has Nemo and a Dora one that she never plays. She also has a Bratz one that she plays some - of course, not for a boy! If you have Big Lots, check there. I bought the Bratz game for $5. They also had some boy game for same price - maybe Batman or some other superhero.

You aren't the only one, my son liked it until he got his hands on a game boy...now he has no use for it.

Get the puzzle game! I think it's called Get Puzzled. It's a great logic game and lots of fun. My 3 & 5 year old both play it.

Their favorites are that, Deigo, Thomas, Sonic & Creature Create.

The biggest hits at our house are the Cars & Letterpillar games--this is for my DS6 & DS2 (almost 3). A close second are Dora & Backyardigans. I do believe that the Cars game is for 4-6 year olds but the Nascar game is for K-2--your DS4 will love the Cars game! I have had the Leapster since Christmas 2006 & my DS, then 4, didn't play with it as much as I hoped. When my other DS was 2 1/2 he got his hands on it & can't get enough of it! Of course that makes it more appealing to big brother so they now fight over it ;) --looks like I'll be trying to find a second one at a garage sale or on ebay this year!
