Can anyone tell me what the best type of cover fo the I pad is? I would like one that covers it completely, but I wonder if there is a problem with the sleep feature. I have read that some covers prevent it from sleeping and it runs the battery down.

Hi dennise, I bought an iPad 2 a couple of weeks ago when Apple had their 1 day sale - on Black Friday. I bought it at Best Buy but they didn't have very nice covers in stock so I looked online and ordered one from them. A co-worker has the same cover for his and he really likes it and it looked like it would meet all my needs as well.

It has an elastic strap around it to secure the cover from opening. I haven't noticed any issues with battery drain.

Here is the link to the Affinity iPad 2 Standing Pivot case on Best Buy's site.

As an aside, what do you think of the iPad? It is one incredible tablet! Some of the apps that I have for my iPhone are really kicked up a few notches for the iPad version.

I have a Belkin case to protect the back (it's like a plastic shell that just covers the back of the device) and the Apple smart cover for the front in green. I've had my iPad2 for months and haven't had a single problem with battery life using these covers.

Mine hasn't arried yet, I think Santa will bring it, I just want to be able to protect it from day one. I can't wait, I don't have an I phone so it will be new to me.

Well enjoy it when you get it. It is a pretty nice Christmas present. :santa:

I didn't get my case for over a week after I got it. We were pretty careful with it before the case came. I would use it and then put it back in the box when I was done.

If it were me I would get a smart cover from apple for the screen and just an invisible shield for the back if you really want to protect it from scratches. Other than that you are just bulking it up

I have an "Origami" case from Incase. It does a great job protecting it and folds into a cool stand for use. It's a snug fit with the magnetic cover on but works great. :)

My husband uses the the apple cover for the screen and an iskin case for the back. They work well together and keep it protected.
