So I did it. I was able to get us a room at the Poly for MLK weekend.   I can't wait. My DH is a little nervous. He thinks DD is too young.

So what do I need to know about traveling with a 20 month old? Any tips would be welcome. Since I'll be 7 months PG we are going to take it nice and slow. No commando weekend this time!!!:)

Nice and slow is the way to do it. Do attractions geared toward your son in the morning, if he naps in the stroller in the afternoon, you'll have time to take turns doing attractions you would like to do.

Make sure you stay hydrated, and keep snacks in your bag for in between meals in case hunger sets in. I always packed a PB&J each morning for DD when she was little in case she didn't care for the food available at whatever park we were at.

Have a great time!:cheer2:

:woohoo:  WOO HOO  :woohoo:

That's awesome. No tips here either :-)

Yay! have a great time, we will be there two weeks after you......we took DD to WDW the first time when she was almost 21 months.....she did great the first two days, just napped in her stroller, went on a few rides.....carosel, dumbo, train. she loved toontown and all of the character greetings, Pluto was a fav, she kept trying to get his tail.
2nd day did AK, her fav was the Lion King Show, we sat by where the Bird Lady came out and DD went nuts over her, they kept blowing kisses back and forth until she had to go on stage. We took her on the safari, pocahontas, tarzan rocks, camp mickey & minnie.
The 3rd day we stayed at the hotel (CS) swam a bit and gave her some down time and then went to Epcot that evening for dinner and illuminations.
4th day we were at the golf course builders convention (DH profession)and also did Chef Mickey's.
DD was a great sleeper/traveller before we went to WDW and always happy to be in her stroller, on daddy's shoulders or holding our hands. brought her lots of her fav snacks, water cup and her minnie mouse (never let that go) also brought a light blanket.
I loved our first trip with her probably the most out of all of our trips, since it was her first and seeing her eyes light up at everything was so magical.
Overall, take it slow, don't try to squeeze everything in and just enjoy the trip.
Have a great time!

Yay! You will have so much fun! DS has been going since he was 10 months old. Bringing a little one along certainly slows down your pace, which will be good for you to rest. I've found it best to try to keep to a normal schedule. Normal wake up, naptime, bedtime, mealtime, etc. Sure you might miss the evening fireworks, but you aren't dealing with a monster the next day. There is no commando style park touring with a toddler. Will she nap in a stroller? DS will which makes it easy for my DH to be able to go on all the roller coasters while I walk around in the shops with sleeping DS. It will be such a great trip for all of you!
