Here is where I need your guys wisdom!!!
I offered to pay for my DM & Step-dad's room & tickets for WDW. They are going to pay for their food and gas (driving down). I am paying for them so they can help with me with my 10 month old. They want to be able to to take him back to the room some and put him to bed at night.

But they are pushing to stay off-site and we are staying on-site. I am trying with everything I have to convince her to stay where we are staying. I don't think they can be as much help if they are 15-20mins away.

DM has not been to WDW since I was 5 and that has been a little while ago
(24 yrs), she has no idea how much it has changed since then.

DM comes to me the other day and says step-dad told her that when you go back to your on-site hotel after the parks close they lock you in and you can't leave!!!! :rotfl2:

Please tell me some things you would say to convince her to stay on-site, it is not costing her anymore or less to do this.

Help,

Tracy

All Stars Music, we were staying in a moderate but downgraded to offset the cost of paying for them.

Remind them its free! Can't beat that price. :lmao: How about giving them a Disney guidebook, so they can see everything available to them, or getting them on DISboards? Maybe they might be afraid to stay on site because they think it will cost you too much and they're trying to save you money? If they know it's under $100 a night, they might feel better about it.

I know most of the us here would jump at the chance to go to WDW for free basically.

DM has been finding all these werid deals on ebay that scare me to death, she has also been pointing out rooms for $19 a night. I am with the theory if it is too good to be true it normally is.

I have been pushing my guide books on her for weeks, she thinks her DH knows more than we do.
Thanks,
Tracy

I think I'd go with something like-
1- your travel time to/from your own hotel after we get back will be longer than 15-20 mins..

2- if we stay out late you'll be driving in unfamiliar areas at night, when you're tired...

I think these ideas might work. You know your mom best. When we went down, my parents were there part of the time. They stayed onsite at the campground, we were at Movies. I'm sure it took them 15-20 mins to get back to the campground- they have a decent sense of direction and had been there 2 years prior. It would've been so much more convienent if they stayed at our hotel. We could've stayed out later and they would've just walked down the hall to their room. Can you think of some "money saving" ideas that would fly with her? Gas to and from their hotel, more time with the kids, etc...?
