My DH is a middle school principal and he likes to put stuff in his teacher's boxes from time to time. He usually puts in post it notes, candy, pencils, etc. with a note thanking them for all they do. Something small, but something to know that they are appreciated. Anyway, he wants to give them some sort of candy and he did Kit Kats last year with a note about taking a break..or something like that. Does anyone have any ideas on what would be a good candy and accompanying phrase? I can't think of anything else...the Kit Kat was my one and only idea last year. Thanks!

Oh, and Monday (August 31) is payday for the school system. I don't know if anyone could think of something to accompany a Payday candy bar.

I gave a 17 y/o young man that did some work for me a 100 Grand Bar once with a note stating "You're the Grandest!". His friends said he loved it and it was hanging on his wall. I have also done Hershey's Hugs and Kisses, and Hershey's Treasures.

How about a Snickers bar with a note: I thought you might enjoy a snicker that didn't come from the back of the room.

How about giving them an Almond Joy. You could put a note with it that said something like:

"Teachers - Sometimes you feel like a nut, but thanks for all you do."

We have received Payday candy bars and 100,000 grand bars with a note saying something like, "You're worth a whole lot more to me! Thanks for all you do."

My DH got quite a chuckle out of this one!

Thanks for the ideas. He has almost 10 months left of school, so he has lots of oppurtunties to use these!

For teacher appreciation week I always give my sons' teachers big boxes of reeses pieces with a note saying "Thanks for being such an important "piece" of my sons education." He could alter that any way that suits him!

Life Savers candy.

Not good at phrases and I'm too tired to think of something.

I will search for something I was given-It had a lot of little things, bandaid, life savers, etc and the note.

I used to have a list of various ones but when I moved to a new computer I lost many things. Check out the file sharing area on PTOTODAY.com. There are some very creative prople who have shared many ideas.

Once I remember was for a small bag of microwave popcord with a not that said something like "just POPPIN by to remind you........(insert any comment)

Or a single serving of cookies and a note that says "you are one smart cookie"

One time I bought my husband a 100 grand candy bar, and said something like, "here is 100 grand for all your hard work"....I forgot what I told him...but it was something similar.

Okay here's the one I have:

This is your anti-stress kit. I hope that these items will help you relax and enjoy your life more.

RUBBERBAND-To remind you to stretch your new ideas and your mind to new limits so you will continue to grow and reach your potential.

TISSUE-To remind you to see the tears and needs of others, including those of yourself and your peers.

CANDY KISS-To remind you that everyone needs a hug, kiss or a word of encouragement every day.

LIFE SAVER-To remind you to think of your peers as your "life savers". Care about each other and help each other through the stressful times that occur in life.

PENNY-To remind you of the value of your thoughts-Big ones and little ones!! Share them with others.

ERASER-To remind you that we all make mistakes and with an eraser they can be erased, as can our human mistakes be overcome.

TOOTHPICK-To remind you to "pick out" the good qualities in others and yourself and to be tolerant and accepting of the differences of others.

PAPER CLIP-It is important to "keep it all together". Find the balance in your physical, professional, and spiritual life.

The tissues were the individual travel packs and the Candy Kiss is a Hershey's Kiss. The items were placed in a sandwich sized ziplock bag with the above typed out on a piece of paper.

Smarties candies! Teachers help lay the foundation to building great minds:)

We were given a variation of these during our United Way campaign last year:

Any kind of sweet candy -- "Thanks for being here to sweeten our community's future."

Charleston Chew, or even chewing gum -- "Glad you 'chew-z' to use your talents here."

Individually wrapped fortune cookie -- "The good fortune of these kids is in your hands!"

Lifesavers - Thanks for being a lifesaver
Mounds - Something like "I appreciate the MOUNDS of work you do"
Good & Plenty can be worked into something cute.

Now And Later can also be used.

Thanks to all the SMARTIES at ________ School!
