OT: I have saminella Peanut Butter!!!

I have two jars too. One is almost gone and the other is half way gone.

I hadn't heard of this. I have one recently emptied jar, one half empty jar, and a new jar all with that code. We've all been ok. I'll have to look into it more.

I have one too! We only used it once....DH made a sandwich and he has a stomach of iron....I am going to bring it back to the store today.

Even if they are saying that there probably isn't Salmonella in the jars, I would still toss them or send them in-whatever they are advising. I wouldn't wish Salmonella on anyone, especially a young child. Our DD was miserable when she had it.

I'll have to look and make sure we don't have any. I usually buy Jif but DH may have picked up another brand.

Anyone wanting to read the full report can go to www.conagrafoods.com
Hopefully, that will put your mind at ease...

Thanks for the link! I know I bought a double pack a while ago, and the unopened one starts with 2111... but we never had any adverse effects with the first jar. Guess that JIF will be getting a boost in sales in the next few weeks. :rotfl:

I guess it's a good thing I made THAAAAAAT mistake recently. My husband will only eat Jiff. But he eats crunchy. I buy the kids walmart brand creamy. BUT I saw a great deal on Jiff and accidentally grabbed creamy instead of crunchy. And it was 2 packs of 2 huge jars. So it's been a while since walmart brand.

WE have two jars. All of us some of it last week. Well, except DH. When I told him, he said that's why choosey dads choose JIF.

I heard on the radio this am that Publix and Kroger will exchange or refund your Peter Pan PB if you bring it in. I'll be going in tomorrow with my 2 unopened jars.:thumbsup2 This is in Metro Atlanta--I assume all Publix/Krogers will comply.

Just a question, maybe someone will know...how much postage do you think it will take to send in a lid? I'm thinking two 39cent stamps will cover it, but I'm not sure...think it will? :confused3 (I'd just take it to the post office but my van isn't running at the moment. :sad2: long story~keeping fingers crossed that it won't cost me ALL my trip saving to get it repaired!)

Add us to the list! Ugh. 1/2 a jar gone. Browsing at the grocery store this morning and saw all the PP p-nut butter gone. That's when I remembered the news blurb and picked up a jar of Jiff. Sure enough when I got home there was the tainted PP on our shelf.

Out it goes!

I need to hunt up where to send that lid.

Fortunately in an effort to reduce my kids' sugar intake I switched to an all natural/no sugar added brand last month:thumbsup2 , I guess that was a healthier move than I originally thought;) .

Yep, we have it too. DD8 has already eaten 95% of a LARGE jar of it - LOL. She either has an iron stomach or the PB is fine. She will also eat her PBJ sandwich in about 30 minutes at school. :scared1:

Anybody know if you send in the lids do you have to send in the receipt, too? It's been awhile since we bought ours and I don't have the receipt. It doesn't say on the website that you have to, but then how do they know how much to refund (or are they just refunding MSRP, which would be more than I paid, for sure)? Anyone know?

We have it. A jar of Great Value but it's 1/2 gone so I'm guessing it was fine!
I will toss it out but certain I would have been sick by now!

Oh my goodness, I feel terrible. I saw this thread and knew I had Peter Pan and went and got it out of the pantry which is over half gone and we have it.

I have 2 jars, does anybody know where to send the lids for a refund?
On one of my jars there was a coupon on top for 2.00 off the Cars movie, so the number is actually on the jar. Any ideas how I should deal with that?:confused3

We have one too! In fact, the whole house was down last week with an awful stomach virus. Now it makes me wonder....
