The Tooth Fairy forgot to visit my son last night. :guilty: I can't believe I forgot about it last night. It is very hard for things to slip my mind, but for some reason this did. He was so upset this morning and I felt so bad for him. To make it worse, he went and told his sister and she told him that the tooth fairy has never forgotten about her. :headache: I didn't know what to tell him, except that she would come tonight instead and that she probably got stuck in some bad weather last night, it is winter afterall. :lmao:

That happened to me once. We decided that the money must have fallen off the bed...so we went on a search for it and I FOUND it on the floor under the bed. With a note that said the tooth was special and he should keep it for a while. It worked. But I felt horrible too!

I always forget - put a dollar in your hand (folded up small), and help him search his bed. It's gotten so bad, that we pretend to wrap up the tooth in a paper towel, but really wrap up a dollar, to put under the pillow! :lmao:

We forgot once too! My DH did the same thing as others have done. He put the dollar in his hand and "found" the money under the bed!

Hey, at least you didn't fall asleep before putting Santa Claus presents out. I was waiting for DS to fall asleep and I did too.

Fortunately, DH woke up first and checked to see I had remembered everything.

I would would add that you could "find" the money as suggested above. My best friend puts the money under the toothpaste. She says the tooth fairy is reminding DD to take care of the rest.

:lmao: I had to respond here as I almost had this same issue myself the night before last... I have custody of my 9 year old gr niece, and my "baby" is 26 so it has been many years since I have dealt with the "tooth fairy" and so I had forgotten the rules...I thought I was being slick by having the $ folded up in my hand and slipping it under her pillow as I went in to wake her up for school but I FORGOT that the tooth fairy takes the tooth with her:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: and I left the tooth. Needless to say, I had some explaining to do....;)

Been there done that quite a few times. It happens.

One of my friends always forgets. She sends her DH up with her child to "help look", and her DH always finds the money on the floor! ;)

We have not forgotten, but we have told the kids that if the tooth fairy doesn't come that night, so many kids must have lost teeth that day that she will come the next day and not to worry. Same goes for losing a tooth right before bedtime - the tooth fairy might have already mapped out her night and might have to add us the next day. It covers us in case we do forget.

Last weekend, DD6 lost a tooth Friday, DD9 lost one Saturday and DD6 lost another one Sunday. The tooth fairy was really scrounging for money by Sunday, and we said we might have to set up a tiny cot in case the tooth fairy wanted to move in here! :rotfl2:

I did this once too and I felt horrible. I ended up telling her that sometimes the tooth fairy is so busy that they have to come the 2nd night and when they do that the kids get a really special prize, something even better than money. I can't remember what I got her but I went to the store and got her something really cool that would fit under her pillow. I still felt horrible though.

Don't feel too bad. The tooth fairy has had a few busy nights around here. We just keep putting the tooth under the pillow until she has some free time. Once, it took 3 day!!! But the tooth fairy feels a little guilty when this happens and usually leaves a few extra dollars :thumbsup2 I'll have to remember the under the bed trick!

Santa's never forgotten the presents, but once I had been wrapping presents while the kids were asleep. I asked DH to lock them up in our storage building ( that's Santa's hiding place) and then I went to bed. dd was about 3 and was sooo excited to see that Santa had come a week early. Dh had fallen asleep on the coach. I could have spit nails..didn't speak to him all day!! I was able to convince her that those were presents for the family..that mommy likes to pretend to be Santa for Grandma. Thanksfully she was young enough to buy it..that would never fly now that she's 9.

One of my friends told me what she does to remember and now I do it too.

When your child loses a tooth during the day go and get a dollar and put it in your bra, when you get ready for bed that night the dollar will remind you.:lmao: Sounds strange but it has worked for me.

We have a VERY forgetful tooth fairy. So bad, that all of my kids know who the tooth fairy is and always have (doesn't affect their belief in Santa, though!).
Around here, the tooth fairy pays double if she forgets. So now, my kids are excited if the tooth fairy forgets the first night. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

There is a cap on it doubling, though. The tooth fairy never gives over $5! The starting reward is $1, so that should tell you how forgetful the tooth fairy is in this house ....

The toothfairy had to fork over a $20, it was the only bill she had. Truly I could not stand the look on DD face when the Toothfairy didn't leave anything, the only bill inthe house was a $20 and DD "found" it under the bed.

Thanks for all the great stories. I don't feel so bad now! :lmao: I was so shocked this morning about the fact that I had forgotten about the tooth that there was no way I would've been able to pull off "finding" it under the bed. A cover-up story or back-up plan never even occurred to me. Plus, my very inquisitive daughter helped him look EVERYWHERE for the money. Hopefully I'll be more prepared next time the tooth fairy forgets. :rolleyes1

Add me to the bad Mommy club!

Since they looked around inside, could the Tooth Fairy have "dropped" the money outside? Maybe she was in such a hurry, the money was carried out the window as she flew off?

My kids just get told there must have been a LOT of kids who lost their teeth yesterday!

She always comes within 3 nights, lol....but often doesn't make it the first night!:rotfl:
