Just posting to complain a little. I slipped on a patch of ice on Wednesday at my daughter's daycare and broke my right ankle. It hurts like H-E-double hockey sticks. I have a walking cast and crutches. I get to see an orthopaedic surgeon on Monday. :scared: FUN TIMES! :rolleyes1

I guess its a good thing there were no trips planned this year or I would be not only sore, tired and cranky but there'd be a house full of disappointed would-be vacationers around these parts.

I will have lots of time to kill in the next little bit probably, so I think I'll have to hang around here and start planning a "Bertie is fully recovered, lets go to Disney!" trip.

I broke mine 2 years ago last week. It isn't fun as I still had to get to work. After the walking cast cam off my physician suggested that a boot would be easier to get around and it could come off to shower. It was the best thing. Perhaps your surgeon will suggest that options. Take care of yourself, replacement for us grandmothers are hard to find.:)

My son ended up with a cast 36 hours before we left for vacation a couple of weeks ago! If he needed surgery we would have had to cancel. Not a fun experience!!

I broke my left ankle in may at Disneyworld. May I suggest a knee walker instead of the crutches. So much easier on the arms and not as scary as loosing your footing while getting around. Good luck.

Ah Hon
I am so sorry this has happened to you and I am sending some healing hugs your way.~~~~~~Healing Hugs~~~~~~.:beach::beach::beach:

I really think the doctor should write a prescription for a week away in the sun as I think your ankle will heal so much better in the warmth and sunshine.
Take care
Hugs Mel

Thanks everyone. Its been a long couple of days. It now hurts from my toes all the way to my knee :( It sucks. I finally got a really good night's sleep last night. Slept from 10 pm until 7:15 am. That is amazing for me at the best of times.

We are having my daugther's birthday party tonight. Her birthday was yesterday. She's 8 now 4 of her friends are coming over for an evening of spa treatments, pizza, cake and ice cream and then spending the night. It'll be fun and at least will give me something to keep my mind off my injury. We are excited!!! :cool1:

In DIS related news....we were hoping to go to Orlando over Christmas but DH's cousin is getting married on December 28. So, we are now thinking we might go for DD's birthday next year. That'll be a hoot!!! DH and I were talking about it last night and we will surprise her with it at Christmas and will be a joint Christmas/Birthday gift for her. Hope it all works out! princess:
