OT: How many days in Niagara Falls,Canada?

We were just there last weekend. Stayed at the Embassy Suites which was lovely. Had a view of the falls from our room (39th floor) with full hot cooked breakfast included, along with tickets for drinks at the manager's reception each evening. We got there Thursday late, let the kids swim in the pool for a while, then Friday did our full day out. Weather was wonderful and we did a bus tour. Saw the falls, did Niagara's Fury, behind the falls, ferris wheel, Skylon Tower, butterfly conservatory, whirlpool. Maid of the Mist stopped the weekend before I think so we couldn't do that.

We didn't get to Clifton Hill since we left Saturday morning but I think we easily could have done another day. Hit Clifton Hill, do the IMAX theater, maybe go to Niagara on the Lake.

Loved it.

We took our kids (6 & 9) up on a Friday night, left Sunday afternoon. We did a lot and had a great time. I highly recommend the Clifton Hill Fun Pass. You get to do 5 different attractions for a really good price. Here's the website:
www.cliftonhill.com. We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Murray Street, across from the Fallsview Casino. It was an average hotel, very kid friendly - indoor & outdoor pools, hot tub. Go to Tim Horton's in the food court in the casino hotel for breakfast! Much better than the restaurant in the H.I.

My family spent over a week in Niagara falls Sept. 2007. We rented a house that was only a mile and a half walk to the falls. It was glorious! We could hav spent many more days! The highlights of our trip were eating in the Skylon tower in the revolving restaurant. It is very expensive, but sooo worth it! The kids also enjoyed the Africian Lion Safari. It was a good drive away from the falls, but an experience! The monkeys are fun, but warning they might tear up your car! We went after Labor day so a lot of attractions were either closed or closed early. The butterfly garden in wonderful for younger kids. The American side is ok, but not as good as the Canadian.

If an Economy trip is being made, we stayed near our step daughter by North Tonawanda. About 6 miles from the falls at the Anchor Motel American side for $50 a weeknight, $60 weekend.
It was older, nicely done up, clean. The pool was too cool when we went but looked nice. It is a smaller place. Refridge and micro wave, Comfortable enough double beds, and the couch that opens into a bed. 2332 River Road Niagara Falls.

We only slept in the room so it did not need to be great or on the Canadian side. We also like to spend a day at Niagara on the Lake and visiting the Wineries. The Lock too for the canal is an enjoyable site for the kids. It certainly is not what you would expect compaired to what you get for $175 a night. But safe, quiet, friendly But if you are looking for AAA this is not a place you will be happy with.

4 families went last year and we all were very happy.
