ok - forgive me. I know this is off topic but scrappers tend to have great storage solutions.............

I am trying to store my wrapping paper in my scrapping room. I bought two of those vertical rubbermaid wrapping paper containers -- the ones with the lids and the little compartment in the top for scissors and tape.

They are ok........they are so big and bulky, you know?

Can you please tell me how (and where) you store your paper? I don't want to put it in the basement as that's not where we wrap gifts. I'd like to keep it upstairs if possible.

Thanks.:confused3

I have a horizontal Rubbermaid wrapping paper thing. In our laundry room there is about 3.5 ft above the cabinets, so it sits up there, out of the way. Unfortunately, it is not long enough for all of the wrapping paper, so I have some loose rolls that sit on top of the tote, with various bags, tissue, and boxes that sit above that. The rest isn't very organized, but it is up and out of my sight so I don't care.

Right now my stuff is in my old coffee table which is a trunk however my little brother is getting ready to take that so I'll need a new solution. I like the behind the door thing but I tend to buy the extra long rolls so I'm not sure they would fit. I make my own bows so I'll also need some ribbon storage but thats pretty easy to find I think....

those back of the door thing are nice if you don't have too much. I have too many rolls for that and some of mine are extra long.

In the future, I'll have to pay more attention to how long the rolls are. I need to use up a lot before I buy anymore.

I have something like in the pics in Buffy's post, only mine folds and zips up. It has a place for bows, ribbons and paper. I just keep it in the closet.

I bought two of those vertical ones that hold the paper in the bottom & the bows on top. Wouldn't you know it, all my rolls are extra long. Nothing fit. :rotfl: They hold dirty clothes in the boys' rooms now.

I have the rubbermaid paper holder too. I like it but I never put the lid on. I store it in the guest room closet.

I used to keep mine in the basement, but like you said, it was a pain to go down there anytime I wanted it. I thought about buying the special vertical Rubbermaid container, but then realized it wasn't necessary, so i used an extra laundry hamper we had, and I keep it in the front hall closet. Much easier! I have a drawer in our dining room hutch for gift bags, tissue paper and ribbons.

Mine are in an under the bed flatish rubbermaid thingie (technical I know)

This my sound weird or cheap :rolleyes1 but...

I use old pantyhose.

If you stick the wrapping paper in the legs and then tie the waist onto a hanger, then you can hang the wrapping paper in the closet. I used to prop it up in the corner of the closet, but DH kept knocking it down and unrolling the paper.
