Sorry off topic! Does anyone live in this area that can suggest a clean hotel in this area that is not super expensive? Like under $70 in July (if that is possible!)
thanks
Diane
Diane, on Orbitz.com, you can search for "hotel only" and see prices in each star rating category. This is a tough one, IMHO, especially if you're going over a weekend. But take a look and see if any of the newer hotels have a special deal. In Severville, there are quite a few of the newer hotels - a decent option if you will be visiting Pigeon Forge or Dollywood by the back route (Middle Creek Road) rather than down the Parkway. Forget Sevierville if you really wanted Gatlinburg during prime July - too far through too much traffic.
Look for an Entertainment book discount or 2-for-1 deal, if you have that or something similar.
Also, if other options fail, you may consider trying Priceline.com, if it's just for 2 people. Go with a higher star rating. Read about the Gatlinburg area hotels on EZBoard's Priceline BiddingForTravel to see some of the hotels possible in each star rating in this region, before you bid. HTH!
I stayed in a Travelodge in Gaitlinburg. It was on top of the hill on the street, directly across from the ski lift. It was $60/nt. I used a roomsavers coupon.
We always go to Gatlinburg every December to do Christmas with DH family. We stay at Midtown Lodge. We stay in the tower room and they are very clean, but we stay there because of the fireplace which you wouldn't need. The hotel is smack in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg and we always walk everywhere we go around Gatlinburg. Good Luck and have fun. Also if you eat at the Pancake Pantry, even though it is summer, get some hot chocolate, it is the best!
