A few weeks ago I interviewed for a job. I let a week pass and then e-mailed a thank you to my would-be supervisor. Not expecting this (that is, a job offer in an e-mail), but HAPPILY ;)mind you, he replied "oh and the by way, you are our final candidate and we are asking HR to extend an offer to you."

That was two weeks ago and I've heard nothing, nada, zip.:confused3

Should I call the would-be supervisor? Or HR? I don't think I should call HR....hmmm.... help!!!

I would call the would-be supervisor. Since that is where you last received communication, that would be where I would start. Just give him a call or drop an email stating that you wanted to follow up about the offer since you have not heard from HR.

Good luck and I hope that it ends well for you. Sometimes HR will hire someone without a supervisors knowledge or consent, so hope the job is yours and hr just dropped the ball. :thumbsup2

There is no way I could have waited two weeks.

Call the person who sent you the e-mail.

Did you respond to that email at all? I never would have waited two weeks either. I would have responded immediately and Thanked him again, told him how excited you were about the job and that you would look forward to HR contacting you. THEN, if you didn't hear within a week contact him back.

At this point, I think the only thing that you can do it follow up with him advising you have not heard from HR. If you didn't respond to that email at all he may have thought you were not interested because you didn't responde.
