OT~Help Baltimore MD area hotel ?

I posted this in the budget board as well b/c I am looking for a quick reply. I spend more time here so not sure where I will get the fastest answer.

My mom and grandmother are leaving tomorrow to stay in baltimore for couple of days my grandmother has cousin who is at JohnsHopkins. I am trying to find a hotel in the are area for them but I am trying to get an idea of the area to find out what is a safe area for the two of them. They will be taking the train to Penn Station MD and will be at the main JH location.

We've stayed at hotels in the Inner harbor a few times for lacrosse trips but I'm not sure where exactly JH is. I think your best bet would be to call the hospital and ask them what hotels are closest. I'm sure they'd have suggestions!

I live just outside of Baltimore. Anything in the Inner Harbor will be safe (and expensive). The hospital is about 10 blocks away from there, but NOT walkable for safety reasons. A cab is very easy.

Thanks for the replies. I am looking at the Holiday in on North Gay street. from the info that I got they have a shuttle that will take them from the train station to the hotel and a shuttle that will take them to and from the hospital. I got mixed reviews about the hotel but most of the negative was about the area itself so I want to make sure its decent enough for their stay which will only be for three nights.
