Ok - so not Disney related, but I am going to Vegas! I've been before, but it's been about 5 years, and I know already so much has changed! And, I get to spend it with my honey!

We are staying at the MGM (never stayed there before), and today, I booked tickets to go see Phantom of the Opera (saw this when I played in an orchestra as a teen, and LOVED it - looking forward to seeing it again!!!), and we have also booked tickets to go see Cirque Du Soleil Ka (I've seen O before, and thought we would try this one since it's in our hotel!). And, we also plan on going to the Hoover Dam, since I've never been and he really wants to!

Anyways, I am very excited...but, if you can give me some tips on what to do there....neither one of us gambles, and if we only shop while we are there, we may be in trouble. Any ideas?

We did the Hoover Dam tour a couple of years ago. It's definitely worth seeing. There are several bus companies that will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a bus tour. Or you could rent a car.

Great new shopping area at Caesars and I love the Fashion Show Mall (not sure if you were there before)

I've been to Vegas so many times I've lost count...about 15 I think.

There are tons of things to do besides gambling and shopping. Although both are excellent.

Last year I put together a lot of info for some friends that were going for the first time. If you want it PM me with your email address and I can foward it to you.

Funny, that Vegas should come up on here today because my DH was just watching a program on the Travel channel about Vegas and it's making me want to go really bad. We cancelled our Vegas trip last August to go to WDW for free dining.

We just got back from Vegas just 2 weeks ago. We stayed at the MGM too (our first time there) It's a gorgeous hotel. A tip we got and used; If you slip a $20 when you check in and ask if there are any "free room upgrades" you may be pleasantly surprised. It was nerve wracking doing it but we got bumped up to a suite and the girl then did some digging and found a promotion we were eligible for giving us one night free. So the 20 was well worth it :-) (when you check in they ask for your ID and your Credit Card, so just fold the 20 between the two as the first thing they do it spead them apart on there keyboard and the 20 pops out without being in your face)

Ka was also amazing. Since your staying at the MGM check out the tv special that goes behind the scenes of it. We watched it before and it was cool to know how they were doing everything we saw (or you could watch it after) Theres just a tv station in your room playing in 24hrs.

We weren't big gamblers either. We just did the 5 cent slots every now and then. But even just walking around the hotels is just breath taking. If your looking for a good buffet Cravings at the Mirage is spectacular.

Your going to have an amazing time. I'm so jealous lol

Go to the outlets downtown, awesome shopping! Also if you go to the fashion show mall and want to buy something at Macy's go to customer service on the second floor first. They will give you an international visitor card that will save you 10%ish(it's been awhile). Macy's has great deals on men's shoes and clothes.
