My dd turned 8 in January

One of the great presents we recieved was a board game called Guess Who?

Dd is almost 8, she loves anything from Justice, Barbie, American Girl, Jewelry making kits, zhu zhu pets and Club Penguin.

D cousin is 8. She likes Justice and hair stuff from Claire's and stuff for her DS. She does not like barbies as she just gave them all to my dd and a barbie house and airplaine (that is DD5 she was so excited!). She also likes anything with her initial of her first name "M" on it and Wizards of Waverly Place. HTH

I ditto the Justice gift cards. Or even Claires.

My dd is going to be 9 in May & I am going to tell everyone to get her just that. She will be in heaven shopping for some spring clothes & better for me that I don't have to shell out all that cash.

My DD will be 8 in June, (check signature for her Bday gift) . She loves Justice, Claire's, the store Five Below, so anything from there would of been just find for her, and given gift cards is the best thing, makes her feel more independent.

Sounds like you've decided what to get, but I just wanted to add another idea. We got our niece, who was turning 9, a diary with a lock (with the Jonas Brothers on the cover!) and some sparkly pens to write in it with for her birthday. I know it depends how well kids know how to write, but I remember being diary crazy at that age!
