I love the smell of a real tree. The room looks so bare when the tree goes though. Do you put any presents under the tree before Christmas morning?

Yes. All family and friends presents (to and from) go under the tree.... Sofas are where we get our Santa pressies.... :goodvibes

Yes we do, but not our 'real' prezzies. Our real prezzies are the ones we have Christmas morning, but then in the evening all the family gather in one house (either my sister's or mine) and we exchange 'tree' prezzies. Tree prezzies are cheap little prezzies - quite often nonsensical. I pick up things all the way through the year, whenever I see things reduced to clear or things that appeal in their silliness. These are the presents that go under the tree before Christmas Day.

We have presents from other people under the tree. The ones from Santa appear on Christmas morning in huge sacks near the fire.

Do you open your family presents in the morning or after lunch?

I would love to have the will power to wait until after lunch. I think it would be great to go to church in the morning, have lunch and then open up. But in real life...we open up first thing. How about you?

As soon as I can wake them all up (I've even resorted to standing outside people's rooms setting alarm clocks off, etc...!)!

You'd be at home at our house Bob - my three as old as they are don't last past 6am - they keep flushing the toilet to wake everyone up!!

We tell our kids that they are not allowed downstairs until 7am. That way a cuppa is made and the video camera is poised to capture the moment. We can usually hear them whispering at around 6, sometimes earlier. It all adds to the anticipation. They open their presents as soon as they get down stairs. The stockings are the last to be opened. What about others? When do you open your stocking gifts?

I'm the only one to have a stocking in my family a Pluto one which is cute but doesn't hold much. However I always make my dad try & fit something into it:thumbsup2
