OT-Garden craft help

I need help. My DS6's Nana is going into the classroom with him next week. Each week a differnt child brings in a special person. She had planned on planting seeds in cups and reading a book about seeds. Welp...turns out tomorrow's guest is planting seeds with the kids. She is an avid gardener, and still wants to read the book, but we need a new, easy gardening craft. Thanks!

What about painting a clay flower pot?

I don't know if you have enough time to prepare this or enough time in the classroom but have you ever seen grasshead people?
Take an old knee high stocking or pantyhose leg, put two spoonfuls of grass seed into the toe, pour in a cup of soil and then tie a knot in the hose. Trim the hose so there's about a 3 inch tail. Decorate empty yogurt containers to look like clothed bodies then stick the seed ball on top, the tail will act like a wick. Draw a face on the ball and add googly eyes. The grass will grow to become their hair and the kids can give them haircuts later.
