OT-Fort Washington, PA

This is off topic but I know everyone here is always so helpful. We have to go on a road trip this Sat. to NJ because my husband has to deliver a surf board to a surf shop in Nj. We may make a detour afterwards and drive the hour to Sesame Place since we have 2 small kids who would probably like it for the day. It is supposed to be a really cheap weekend so I was looking for entertainment rates at Holiday inns for Saturday and I got a $52 rate in Fort Washington, PA. Has anyone stayed here before? Is it a bad area? Any info would be great. I really don't know too much about NJ or PA and I wouldn't want to stay in a bad section.

I dont think my first post took... so I am posting again.

I lived in Ft Washington a few years as a child and it is a very nice, expensive area. (unless things have changed dramatically).

I wonder though why you are choosing to stay there instaed of closer to Seasame Place. Right across the street is a Sheraton which is very nice. There are also a few budget chains close by. Ft Washington isnt that far but not that close either. Depending on what day you go and what time you are traveling, the traffic on the PA turnpike can be brutal and make for a miserable trip.

I agree with the previous post, Fort Washington can be quite a haul from Sesame Place. I would try the Sheraton (literally across the street from it) or try the new Hampton Inn in Newtown, PA. It's less than 10 minutes from SP and in a nice area.

I'm with everyone else - Ft Washington is too far from Sesame!

Someone posted about the Sheraton - very nice hotel and right near Sesame! I am not sure about prices or your budget, but suggest you take a look.

The Holiday Inn in Trevose is listed as "the Sesame Place" hotel. Trevose is near but NOT next to Sesame. I'd say it about is about 15 minutes from Sesame. Just a word of caution on that.
