Hello,

Im going to Dallas for work in a few weeks and Ive never been. Checking out things online and aparently Dallas has more malls per capata than any where else in North America. So which ones are good? Im looking for a Lane Bryant or Torrid. Not sure where Im staying or anything yet. I will have a car. Any tid bits or things I must see while Im there would be great!

Thanks everyone!

What part of town are you working in? It makes a difference. If you are near Grapevine, go to the outlets at Grapevine Mills - it's off 121. They have a Disney outlet. If you are in north/central Dallas, go to Galleria, it's off the Tollway at Alpha Road. If you are in far north Dallas/Plano/Frisco, go to Stonebriar and Willow Bend. Stonebriar is off the Tollway or 121 at Preston and Willow Bend is off the Tollway at Park. If you are on the east side of town or anywhere near 75, go to Northpark, which is at 75 and Loop 12/Northwest Highway.

Not sure where you would find a Lane Bryant or Torrid, you'd probably want to check either the mall websites or the store websites to doublecheck.

You absolutely *must* drive through downtown Dallas, on the west side, and drive past the Grassy Knoll. It is still really similar to the Zapruder films you've seen in history class or on TV, and it will give you chills. There is a Kennedy Memorial and of course the 6th Floor Museum (the Book Depository, where Lee Harvey Oswald hid and shot from.)

If you have a chance, the Mesquite Rodeo is open now and that's always a really fun time.

Like the other poster said, I'd really need some more information before I can give you any good answers. There are several Lane Bryant stores in the area. It's a good thing you'll have a car -- you won't be able to see anything without it. Dallas has made some strides in mass transit, but we've got a loooooong ways to go still.

Give us some ideas of the kinds of things you like to do. The Dallas Arboretum is beautiful this time of year. There are some great museums, and the Dallas Aquarium is fun, too. You'll be here before it gets truly hot, so you'll even be able to spend some time outdoors. BRING SUNSCREEN!!!!

Clarifying that the Dallas WORLD Aquarium (in the West End) is great, the 'official' Dallas Aquarium (in Fair Park) is not so great. It's not bad, mind you, just nothing to write home about. It's a single room, and rather dark.......

Im going to be working quite a bit, Ive got a week of training that I have to go to there, but Im hoping for some time to see things and shop a bit. All Ive been told is Dallas so far..
