I know you're girls do pop warner right? We are trying to go to WDW the 1st week of Dec. which is pop warner week. Are we nuts? Any insight as to how crowded it is? We want to stay at the POP. Any help would be awesome!!
P.S. green with envy that you're going in Aug. I have a quote for Sept. but we really want to go for MVMCP. Although that free dining is tempting!

I think "Pop Warner Week" starts on the 6th of December this year. Unfortunately we weren't there last year :sad2: they added more divisions so there were way more families down there in 2004. I read a lot of bad things about the experience last year here in the DIS!! (Some were kind of unbelievable! :sad2: )

Last year participants were offered any of the All-Star Resorts or POR. Well, they had so many people they had some in POP and some offsite!!! I wouldn't have been happy to be offsite!!

The parks are not crowded at all . . . even with all the cheerleaders and football players. The football players (I think) play football all week. The girls compete on one day, some families come for a couple of days and leave; some (like me) make a vacation out of it and stay a week or more!!

They do close down MGM the Friday during this week for a Pop Warner party (which is really nice for the participants and their families). With all the extra people last year I heard it was a mad house. Hopefully they have learned from this experience!! Last year they wanted to split the MGM party into two nights, this would mean that MGM would close early two nights for the general public. Don't know if they will be doing that or not. I won't get information on Nationals unless my team places at the Qualifier in early November. Keep your fingers crossed!!! I have two daughters competing on two different teams this year . . . THAT MEANS TWO CHANCES!!

Wishful thinking on my part, I think. Two board members resigned last season (one of them me!) and two butt wipes were put in. They ONLY care about football, so I don't know what will happen to the cheer program. I'm ready to call it quits any day now . . . it's a shame . . . . I used to LOVE it. :sad2:

Sorry to get off topic!! Hope I answered your questions!! :cheer2:

Jackie, I put my daughter in World Cup this year...we have to check out our competition schedule. Did you get yours yet? I know we are going to Myrtle Beach in March, and then Rhode Island, Baltimore, and Connecticut. Those are the long distance trips. There are a bunch of local ones too. I hope we have some of the same ones, we can finally meet up!

Thanks so much Jackie,

In order to see MVMCP it's the only week we can go b/c of testing at my son's school. I was trying to avoid it, only b/c we'll be at the POP. The parks I'm not too worried about, our resort food court and pools I am. I don't mind all the kids though. My stepdaughter cheered for years (won nationals in TX). The noise I'm fine with, as long as they're having fun!! That's what they're there for!!

If the resort gets too bad, maybe I can see if we can move to a moderate and just pay the extra $$. The only reason I want to stay at POP is b/c my son (11) has not been there yet. I love the fact that it's so open, and he can kinda head to the pools when he wants. My DH and I had a great time there.

I guess we'll see how it goes. Our other option is to just do a moderate our whole time. Maybe PO or CB.??

Thanks
Sara
