What do people say to you when they hear what job you do, things that youve heard 100 times before.....

My job is an interpreteur for the deaf, the 2 that always make me squirm are

1. I know sign language(and proceed to stick two fingers up)

2. Sorry what did you say....

1) Ooo how lucky

or

2) Don't you get bored

I'm a kidless lady of leisure so no job, by choice BTW I never get bored

"So... what kind of gun do you think I should I buy for my wife?"

or:

"So, Bill. You shoot anyone lately?"

I work for BT's systems integration group, and supply equipment for the major Wholesale Finance banks. You can't get much further away from home phones if you tried.

Last week my hairdresser asked me how to get a telegraph pole moved.

I'm not a travel agent, holiday rep or anything like that (although i wish i was - LOL - better than working in Admin!!)

Anyway, for those people that do work in the holiday industry, isn't it just soooo annoying when people say ..........

"Ooh, do you think you could get me a cheap break then?"

Or "I bet you get lots of cheap holidays, etc etc"

I think that would be annoying!!!!

YES!! It's very irritating

Especially since the company I work for sells really expensive holidays which I can't even afford with my discount!!!

Well, running our own business, I hate it when people say when I mention that we are going on holiday "Oh business is doing well then, allright for some!"

Er............NO.......we work very hard for our two weeks off!

And, the next thing I hate is when people ask me what we do, and I say "Central Heating and Plumbing".....they come back with, "Oh so you're one of those rip off merchants then?"

I couldn't type here what I reply to that! LOL

I work for a sister company of PC World (yes that one), but it's PC World Business...we only sell to business customers. Sounds obvious I know, but whenever I tell people this they *STILL* sing me the "Where in the world" advert.

As you can imagine, that is a little annoying for the first 200 times, beyond that, it is a justifiable reason for GBH

I'm the e-commerce manager for PCWB, so everyone presumes I'm really technically minded, and they always ask me how to fix their current PC problems, or of course if I can get them a cheap PC.

I'm about as technical as a lump of lard (we employ people with ponytails and sandals to do the teccy stuff)
