Hi everybody!

I know this is not Disney related, but it's important too!

I hope everybody will be planning to vote in this federal election. A lot of changes have been proposed by the Liberals, Conservatives and the NDP so it's definitely worth checking them out!

Maclean's website has great tools right now to help you get informed. CBC's website also has a vote compass that can help you figure out which party best represents your concerns and beliefs.

There are 3 advance dates you can vote at before the official May 2 election day. They take place around the Easter holiday.

Remember everyone, you have a voice too! :thumbsup2

By the way, I'm just a University of Waterloo student trying to promote more Canadians to vote, if you wanted to know ;)

I'm with you Yuki! More youth need to be involved in politics and start learning about how it affects them. There aren't many times when people will listen to us but on May 2nd, the whole country will be listening. Vote vote vote!

Yep, we will be voting before heading down on april 29. No way I would forget to vote. I want my say in this too!

I got my Overseas Voter Packet from Elections Canada in the post the other day, and I've been trying to keep up with the goings-on. C-SPAN even went ahead and broadcast the English-language debate here and TV5MONDE will broadcast the French-language debate in the next few days.

However, it's so hard to decide, particularly being so far removed from many of the issues being discussed.

It's great to see everyone so active!

Maclean's has this great chart up of all the issues that are being talked about and where each party stands on them. They also have a BS-watch up for what the candidates are saying that are pretty amusing.

Normally yes but this is in the Canadian section and it's more of a reminder to Vote then a discussion of politics. Also Canadians are a little bit better behaved when talking about politics.

Haha, I would like to think we are. But like PP said, this is more of a reminder than a discussion.

If the mods are unhappy with it, they can take it down.

I think it's always good to be informed about elections. The last one came and went and I didn't even know when the vote days were so I wasn't able to participate.

It is so good to see young people talking about the election. I always figured that if you vote, that you should be rewarded.....something like an extra $100.00 deduction on your yearly personal income tax. It is a shame that only 50% of our population actually votes.

I'll be there with bells on!
I always get excited when an election comes up...if someone's going to take the time to ask my opinion on how the contry is being run, I'm going to take the time to give it!

That would be great! Or to motivate more students, they would take some money off our student loans....what a dream that would be!

An incentive would be a great idea to get more people to vote.

Have you seen the recent University vote mobs? They're so inspiring!

Please please please vote....we are so lucky that we live in a country that we can vote freely in without persecution. I will be in WDW the day of the election, but I already know where I will be able to vote early. I hate when people complain about the government, but don't vote. In my opinion, if you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain!

I will vote but I think it's disgusting that they put an advance poll on good Friday - last time I looked that was a stat holiday for a good reason!!

My thoughts exactly - don't vote - well, then don't complain later.

It is important that everyone vote. It is sad to see how the numbers go down each election.

Even sadder though, is the behaviour of some politicians. I find instead of dealing with the issues, they are wasting their time arguing about each other. Plus, those attack ads..... Tell me what you WILL DO and not just attack the other candidates.....

Politics!!!

I have voted in every election I could since I turned 18. I think we are lucky to be able to vote. Some country's voting is dangerous or there is none. Plus it really wasn't that long ago that women were able to vote.

Don't forget to vote. :)
