ot. expedia question

My boyfriend & I are going to Chicago for a weeked in Septembe. When I booked the room I did it through Expedia I notice they already charged my credit card. What would happen if we canceled now?

Not that we are planning to. It just makes me nervous. I'm use to using your card to 'hold' your room, then on check in you give them your card again and they charge you when you check out.

Anybody got any help for me. I've never used expedia before.

I believe Expedia is pay upfront-non refundable. Check your paperwork.

Check the fine print of your reservation. Some rooms are refundable up to a couple of days before check-in, and some rooms are totally non-refundable. It says so upfront before you book if the room is non-refundable. I have cancelled rooms with Expedia before with no problems, but I made sure to book a refundable room - you usually have to pay a few $ more for the refundable room.
