OT: Easy Bake oven with a soft white bulb?

My DD's got one of these but all I could find were soft white 100w bulbs. Has anyone used these? If so, how did you adjust cooking time?

It's funny you ask b/c I bought my daughter one for Xmas, too. After looking a few places, we found the clear, regular bulbs we needed at Home Depot. I don't think you can use the soft white ones at all. It says not to.

I'm returning the thing anyway, b/c it takes 11 minutes to make ONE cookie! I though when I bought it that it would make at least a few at a time since it's about the size of a toaster oven. I convinced my daughter that we can still make cookies (and do the shapes and all) in my big oven and actually get many of them at once instead of just one.

My dd 14 wanted one this year, she is using the soft as that is what we had. Just added a few minutes, not sure...she made a cupcake and I think she left it in 15 minutes.
I also went through the you can make a whole oven full...but she wanted independance for a small batch or recipe experiments

She also wanted a magic bullet, we have had an array of concoctions the last few days for sure. The oddest, was the whipped cooked frozen peas and ham....talked her into mixing milk into it and heating it up.

I think she is wanting to learn to cook, to do things in small amounts due to clean up, and afraid she may catch the toaster oven or microwave on fire again....
Toasting marshmellows for some'mores and forgetting about them is not "a good thing".

I just ended up using the soft white, made the yellow cake, and added on another 5 minutes. worked fine. thanks!

Leave it to my dear Dis Boards to find the perfect answer!!

I know this post is old but it had just the information I was looking for as "santa" got my DD an easy bake for Christmas and I have yet to find the bulb.. Santa thought it came with one so my DD has been very disappointed not to use it yet.
We are off to have yellow cake tonight as she really wants to make it for my DH and my anniversary. How sweet is that!!

This is good to know as DD just got one too. Although I had assumed that you could cook more than one cookie at a time. Guess not.

Lowes has the 100w bulb. DD-9 got the ez bake oven too and she made 4 cookies at a time. It's so darn cute watching them cook and take the food out of their oven that they don't get burned. I am going to enjoy watching and helping her use her ez bake We made a deep dish pizza too with a homemade recipe, very delicious if anyone wants to recipe, please pm me. I will be increasing that recipe though so we can make bigger pizzas in the real oven.
