My youngest little man that will be 7yo in Jan is getting a DS for Christmas (he'll be thrilled to have newer technology then his 12.5yo brother - won't that be fun to deal with :rotfl2: BUt his brother IS getting his electric guitar and he can't have everything!!) and we are looking for games to get to go with it.

So far we have the Mario Kart racing that it came with (Cotsco package deal) and have been looking at the Horsez game since he's a horse nut. ANyone have any other suggestions for good games??

Is the Animal crossing for DS the same as the Animal crossing for Game Cube?? What about some of the other Mario Games? I know he likes to play the Super Mario on his Brother's SP.

Being a DS fan myself (and considerably older than your sons) try games like Super Mario 64 DS
New Super Mario Bros.
Mario&Luigi: Partners in Time <=- May be a little long in the tooth for them, but a nice little Mario Role Playing Game (RPG).
Yoshi's Island DS

All should be kid friendly and fun! Enjoy!

Thanks,
I'll look into those this weekend!!

I can't wait to play with it :rotfl2: As dh wonders WHO I bought it for

Our two - both 8 - love Animal Crossing DS...it has, according to them, "more stuff" than the GC version:)

And the WarioWareDS is good as well. Lots of fun mini-games, lots of stylus use. That's the one they seem to have in it most frequently:)

They just got the Pokemon Ranger Blue (I think), complete with the game guide($18 at Walmart), and that's been in heavy rotation too.

HTH!!

:sunny:
