OT: Does anyone buy Usborne books?

I've been invited to an Usborne Books party. I guess they have quality books for kids that are educational too. Has anyone purchased these? And if so, what did you think of them? I've heard that a lot of homeschool moms use these as well? Thanks!

My neighbor sells them.They are alright i guess, a little pricy and I have found better educational books at my local education/resource store

I love the usbornne books. We have a ton of them and my boys like them over most of their other books. They are educational and fun to read. I don't think they are that pricey. You can get some books under 5.00. I would rather spend money on books then other toys.

I do think they're a little expensive, but really good quality. They have lots of good board books for younger kids, and educational books for the older ones. My DD's school used them for their book fair last year, and the kids loved them.

Lots of teachers use them where we live and I agree they are pretty good quality.

As for pricing, they are just like any other 'at-home' show... you probably pay a little more, but you get the experience of getting together with friends when you are at the show. That's why I go to at-home shows - to socialize with my friends!

We have a few Usborne books, we like them, especially the internet linked ones.
You can get them cheaper on amazon........

My son has one on trains and though he is too young to read yet the pictures are for better then any other train book for his age. It also has link for the web so when he gets to that age he can use it then. HE LOVES IT. Best money I spent.

I sell them! Only after attending a party, and loving them.. and realizing that it would be a great way to put a few $$ in the bank while having some great books around the house!

We are in Canada, and the prices are very comprible to any books you would buy at a book store... no more expensive at all. I think that's why they sell so well.

Not sure. maybe the price structure is different in the US, since they are run seperately.

Bought them for years and now I sell them, too! - So obviously I love them!! There is a really wide price range, and LOTS of titles, so if you want to go to the party, I'm sure you'll find something just right.

(If you like, tell me about the kids you'll be shopping for, and I'll give you tips on where to look. - The catalog can seem kind of huge.)

Have a party- you can get such awesome hostess deals and so many free books, that was how I started our library.

Usborne books make great teacher gifts- there are books on so many subjects and for almost any age level.

Love them!! My DD6 and DD4 really enjoy them. My 4 yr. old is even reading some of them!! There are some that are educational and others that are just good reads. We always buy some, maybe I should start selling too!!!
