OT: digital cameras

This may have been asked before, so if it has I am sorry. I have a sony cybershot, that is about 2 years old. I was thinking of trying to get a different digital. While I like the camera, it doesn't do good with anything fast, only limited zoom, and nighttime pictures are a 50/50 battle. I was wondering if anyone had a camera that they just loved.

I have sony cybershot and I HATE the thing! Its been in the shop TWO times in the year (actually less than a year) I've had it!! I'm looking at the fuji Finepix. They have a nice one on amazon.com for 149$.

We used to be fans of Sony, but the one thing we ALWAYS hated about them is the time it took for it to click which prevented us from getting a really nice action shot. So...after intensive research, we decided to try the Canon Powershot (ELPH) SD600 and I have to say that we LOVE this camera!

It's compact enough to put in your purse/pocket, easy to use, has a quick shutter time (I think that's what this is called) so you'll be able to get great action shots and the video component of this camera is high quality. It also has a sturdy casing (metal) and feels solid.

I too have a Canon Powershot SD630 Digital Elph..I LOVE LOVE LOVE my camera. It does so much though that I"m still learning and needing help with it but I sure have gotten some amazing shots.

It is odd that I found this thread. I have an old Canon Elph only 2.1 megapixels that I LOVE it, it is just outdated and the battery has seen better days it lasts for about 10 pic and dies. By the time I buy a new battery, it will probably be cheaper to buy a new camera. I told DH that I wanted a new one for our trip. On Sunday, the Best Buy flyer listed the Canon Elph 10 megapixels for $445. We were no sure if we wanted to spend that much money, but decided to check out the camera anyway. We went to the store and they listed it as $379. DH looked online Sunday night and found it for $349 plus shipping. DH and I were very excited about the misprint at Best Buy and thought it was a good price, so we bought it. I was playing with it and I really like it a lot. I need more time to give a better review. Thanks so much, I have been looking at a sony cybershot 6.0mp, dsc h2. The main reason was so that I wouldn't have to buy another memory card, but now that I found out that I would....I am open to just finding a good camera. From what I can tell, cannon's are really good, so maybe I will have to check one out. Thanks again.
