OT: DD stuck between size 6x and a 7...

Go online to landsend.com and check out all the cute girls clothes. We are in the same boat you are with my daughter's sizes. We found slims and adjustable waist shorts, skirts and capri's. The 7 slim bathing suits fit her really well. The best thing about lands end is their customer service. The clothes that we picked out, we called a customer service rep. and they gave us the exact measurements for the garments, so I could compare them to her other clothes. The waist and length were the issue for us. If you see something you like, just give them a call and they will be a big help!

at TCP and the 6x/7 size was a lifesaver. Seems they really filled a gap by doing this. My son fits well in their slims too, but I think you can only buy them online.

I'm surprised at everyone that says TCP is expensive, and is comparing it to Gymbo? I never shop at Gymboree unless it is 75% off. I buy all my kids clothes at TCP and they have amazing sales almost all the time. I don't think I have ever paid more than $10 for anything, and often pay $2-$3 a piece. I just bought DD about 15 items for summer and paid $60. They almost always have a coupon around too if you search for it. Even if it is an internet coupon you can bring the code to the store and they will apply it. If the store doesn't have something you are looking for just ask and they will give you a code for free s/h online.

I love that their clothes are "babyish" although I wouldn't call them that. My DD is 9 and about in the last size. I have no idea where we will shop next. Even if I could affort LTDToo their stuff is cut so tight.

Do you have a Justice near you? My DD is just into a size 6, but I've got some older nieces and have been trying to keep an eye out for when my DD outgrows the "kid" sizes and is firmly into the "tween" sizes. Justice seems to be not too mature, yet not too young.

I also love H&M if there's one nearby - though we don't have any! They've got clothes of all sizes - it's kind of the Old Navy of England, and they're spreading throughout the US as well. My SIL found some clothes for her tween-sized 8yo last time we were in Syracuse, and they had some kids clothes that rivaled Land's End for cuteness! We've never had an issue with H&M clothes for quality, either (I have some myself - awesome layering tees!)

Ultimately, though, we almost always fall back to Land's End. You can often find good deals in their Overstocks section, and you can return them to Sears! Even better - you can use Sears giftcards on Landsend.com! So if you do MyPoints or can get Sears gift cards through other reward programs, you can use them online to buy Lands End. It can be an awesome deal!

Mine just turned 7 and I am lucky if I can get her into a 5/6 on the bottom!!

Here are my suggestions. Lands End tends to run large so the 6X would be bigger and several of their things have the adjustable elastic waists. Children"s Place is truer to size but again a lot of their stuff has the adjustable waist also. Limited Too is expensive, but they do have slims which may help. Another good place is Steve & Barry's their things are very unpredictable with fit, so make sure to try it on, but in general I find they tend to run on the smaller side so the 7 may work for you and again a bunch of their things have adjustable waists. Right now everything in their stores is $8.98 and I have seen several 5 for $15 items so at least if she outgrows them before the end of summer you didn't spend a fortune

Also whated to add another problem I have is that alot of these places like The Children's Place and Gymboree the clothes are on the babyish side.

I've noticed that with a few things, especially at Gymboree, but it's not that bid of a deal since my younger DD's not even four yet. I still love Gymboree, I just don't buy those particular things there. Not at all because I think they're too "baby-ish" for my DD, it's just my personal taste. I like the level of "maturity" of most Gap things, especially the toddler stuff (DD can still wear the tops and shorts), though a few of the girl clothes are a little too "old" for a three-year-old.

This is a little off topic, but is it just me or has anybody else noticed that TCP seems to be the only place were you can buy purple? DD loves purple so I'm always hunting for it with little luck.

and I can't find any summer clothes she can wear!! The 7's are just falling off her and and the 6x's "just" fit but on the verge of being too little. She just turned 7 years old and is normal weight and size. Where and how can I get her outfitted for summer...especially for our Disney trip?

I had good luck at JC Penney going a smaller size in the Plus section. They gave enough room with out the huge hanging. Good length too.
Worth a try. I always thought they were huge cut, but not true at Pennys.
At almost 13 it has kept me from a need to go to the Jr. sizes that are a real challange for style and fit.

It's been too long since Gymbo has had a purple line!!

We have lots of purple this year - from Hanna, Naartjie, and some basics from LE, Carters, and Kohl's.

I have trouble with TCP, ON, and Gap. Their clothes tend to be too long and narrow for my girls. These brands only seem to work on the skinny minnies. My girls are more solid, though not heavy.

It's been too long since Gymbo has had a purple line!!

Hasn't it? Today I was just looking at Janie and Jack and they have a new lavendar and turquoise line. My DD3.5 has already picked out a bunch of new tops she wants!

My 7 year old will be 8 the end of June and she has always been on the smaller scale. She has been on the 6/6x/7 cusp for some time.

We also have had luck recently at TCP with the 6x/7 size...their items fit dd well. And we do not find the items babyish for a 7 going 8 year old. We tried looking in Limited Too and Justice, but much of that stuff was just too trendy for both dd and I...we just found little we really liked. DD and I both like some Gymbo stuff, but they can be pricey.
