Ot Day out with Thomas

We went to Edaville in MA last year. My Mom bought the tickets for my ds's 4th birthday. We all had a wonderful time! Even my dd11. There are all sorts of rides there. Definately have to buy early! Have a great time!

We went last Sept in Strasburg PA. It was nice, but not something I would want to do every year (like go to Disney). Like others have said, I would get an earlier train ride if possible. I think the day we went there had been a lot of rain that week and their normal parking lots were flooded, we had to drive 10 min to a parking lot and then the shuttles to the actual event took forever. There were a lot of unhappy parents that day. B/c of the parking situation, we could ride a train at any time. A lot of people had missed their original train time and I think they might have to add another run or two. I was kind of disappointed that the train ride was 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back. Or maybe I was just disappointed in the day b/c it was the week after we got back from Disney. :-)

Either way, my son did love it. We have tons of cute pics from it. Plan to spend the day there, they set up tents for the kids and have face painting, tattoos, a hay maze......

I live about 30 miles from Strasburg and have gone several times. If you can possibly swing going during the week, it makes a HUGE difference in crowds as opposed to the weekends. A nice thing to see just down the road is the hotel that is all train cars. I wouldn't stay there, but cool to look at and they have a caboose that you can walk into and look around for free. They have a free small petting zoo right there by the farmhouse, and Thomas does pass through that property as well. Also, the Choo-Choo Barn is inexpensive if you like train displays and has a cute Thomas layout. There is also a Thomas gift shop in that same complex, and Dutch Wonderland isn't too far and is wonderful when you have small children.

Have a wonderful time!

Totally agree. its a cute place, but we made the mistake of staying there on one of our trips. What a dump! DS was only 3 though and he was so excited to be staying in a real train car. I sucked it up and stayed but don't think I slept all weekend because I was afraid for what might crawl on us.

We've never done a weekend always during the week and thats crowded enough but it is alot of fun especially if your child eats and breaths Thomas like mine used to.
