OT: Costa Mediterranea

Hi There,

I know that this is OT. We have cruised with Disney the past three years and would like to try something new... OK not too true on that statement...a better statement is that Disney is a bit over our budget for the upcoming year.

Has anyone cruised with Costa Mediterranea? What are your thoughts? How is the food? The kids activities?

We looked into this because the children are so inexpensive. But, we ruled the Costa line out for one reason....smoking. From everything we could find about the ship, all was great, except it is VERY smoky. I was told because it attracts a large percentage of Europeans that smoking is much more accepted and you can not escape cigarettes anywhere onboard. Again, I have not been, but that was from the research I did because it looked like a great ship with great prices. If cigarettes don't bother you, go for it!

And please no one from Europe jump on my for comments.....simply restating how it was explained to me.....in Europe smoking isn't secluded to small smoking sections.

That makes my decision much easier!! DH HATES smoke...so this would be a HUGE factor for us.
