I'm just feeling so sad about his death. Never met him, but I loved him on TV - he was always so funny and warm. And the affection between him and Steven was so obvious. I could not believe it when I heard that he had died. I wonder if we'll ever learn what happened.

I had the pleasure of meeting them both when a close friend was chosen for a makeover segment. I must admit, he was totally sweet, exactly how you might imagine him to be-full of life, energy and love.

I, too, was shocked and saddened by his death. Such lively and vivacious television personalities always seem like they are impervious to anything bad happening to them. What a terrible tragedy.

It is so sad. :( I saw him and Steven many years ago probably during the Designer Guys days at the home show. It was such a fun presentation. They was hilarious.

i live in the same neighbourhood and saw them at loblaws more than once. i admit i was a bit skeptical and thought they were just a "couple" for tv and were more like business partners, but they really seemed like any normal couple out grocery shopping. very shocking news and tragic. :(

A story came out this morning that quoted Chris' mother. She said that he had a terrible sleepwalking problem and that he most likely fell from his 6th floor balcony.

Yesterday the police also said that they would not make any statements unless there was some sort of criminal activity found to be in relation to his death. I think the fact that they said that and nothing more says it was some sort of horrible accident or natural cause.

While I feel for his husbands loss, I more than anyone can understand the dangers of sleep walking. We have had to put extra latches on our outside doors that we latch during the winter time. Our DS12 has a tendancy to sleep walk when he's stressed and we have incidents during the winter where he will wake up outside in sub freezing temps with nothing more than his blanket:sad2::sad2:. Fortunately for us, nothings bad has happened to him because of this, other than a mild case of hypothermia, but sleep walking can be more dangerous that most people think.

This is what Steven posted on the CBC site:
A message from Steven Sabados:
“I, our families and friends, wish to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming expressions of tenderness, love and tribute in honour of my beloved Christopher.

Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing his generous, larger-than-life spirit lives on.

From the moment I met Christopher, we went forward in life, side by side and shoulder to shoulder. He was my best friend, my confidante, my partner, my one love.

Over 27 years, we built a beautiful life together; always remembered, always cherished.

As we find our way through this difficult time, we are asking for privacy.

Thank you for your understanding.”
