I met him too with Orvil, he sang Happy Birthday to me. I think I was like 4 at the time!!

I served quite a few celebs when i worked at the service station. I sat in the cafe at Yorkshire TV with Carol Vorderman and Richard Whitely once when they were filming countdown. He had on a shirt, tie, jacket and bermuda shorts!

If that has been highlighted, it probably means that the school will be doing that really well now - it will be an area of development.

Yeah there last report was 2005.

I'm just reading about the Primary school i went too and bless they still have the green team that was invented when i was there lol. I would love to send Kyra there but dont live in the catchment area anymore, unless i put my mums address.

That gentleman appears in our panto every year and used to also turn on our christmas lights every year. He was never very good at turning the lights on though - one year he went on talking for so long before turning the lights on that by the time he went to press the button, the lights were already on

It all got a bit Big Brother. They phoned her and said they knew that her children were not living at the address she had given because they had 'information' giving the real address. They also listed the days when her mum picked the boys up, stuff like that. She was really upset about it because they had obviously been watching her and the kids. They wouldn't say who had told them about her. They withdrew the offer of a school place. The most ridiculous thing was that they later offered her a place because they didn't fill up their places. She didn't take it.

You have to read through the lines with those things, half the time they are out of date anyway.

Ooh Ulrika, I actually don't mind her, I think she gets a bad reaction when it sometimes isn't deserved. I met her once when her and the rest of the cast of Shooting Stars came to the motorway service station I worked at. I made her a burger!

I've just told Robert that and he was a bit gobsmacked- He loves Shooting Stars!!

I once made Gary Mallet from Coronation Street a Panini (Smoked Bacon and Brie!) at work.... Although thats not such a good claim to fame....!! And I've made tea and coffee for Bob Johnson and Mike Neville (Although if you aren't from the Northumberland area you won't get that!).....

Carol Vordeman was in the same maternity ward as me - her daughter is the same age as my son. No surprise that she was in a private room at the end. We did see Timmy Mallet walk past on his way to visit her thought Claim to fame.

To be honest I wouldn't advise it either, I work in education (pre-school) and have had a few parents try this, firstly round here they will check what address your child benefit, child tax credits etc., are registered to, they will know exactly where you and your child is living. Also on the two occasions that I knew about the parents weren't given any of the three schools they registered for in order, they were put to the bottom of the pile and given a school a few miles away.
As for OFSTED reports, it's good to read them but also it's important to visit the school and the pre-school and see for yourself how they work, sometimes the best OFSTED report may not be the best school (or pre-school) for your child. A few years ago parents in this area were obsessed with SATS results and only chose the school with the best figures.

On a sadder note, just been reading about the death of John Travolta's 16 year old son Jett - very sad indeed.

Timmy Mallet - now there is a legacy. They were advertising for people to take part in 'Child of Our Time' in our health centre when I was first pregnant.

I can understand that, but if it's in the OFSTED report it means they will have to improve on it by their the time their next inspection is due. Maybe whilst Kyra is having her settling in session you could chat to the supervisor about it, she should only be too happy to put your mind at ease.

Hurray - I'm finally rid of my uni assignment (all 7,500 words of it), which means I can finally concentrate on going to and enjoying DLP - oh, and possible even finish that trip report I owe from 3 months ago .

As a bonus, I've no more uni work until then end of the month and even then, there's no 100 page a week reading lists because it's dissertation time

First thing on my list for now though - pack ready to leave tomorrow
