We are looking for a good used pickup truck, under $10K. I'm wondering if there are any that would fit a carseat for our dd, 5 (she's too small for a booster). Specifically, an extended cab type truck...if so, what kind/year.

We thought we might find a crew cab (4 door type) but are not having much luck finding one.

Thanks!

I'd encourage you to ask your question at car-seat.org. There are lots of knowledgeable certified car seat techs over there who have first-hand experience with which seats will fit in which vehicles. I also know that some of these extended cabs with small back seats will NOT fit certain seats or some seats at all.

Hey I drive a 2002 Ford F150 crew cab XLT Lariet Pickup. This would be a good option as they have a full size backseat. A lot of the extended cabs back seats are not deep enough for a carseat.

Thanks for the info. I never heard of this website before. I will check it out.

We have a 2002 Dodge Dakota with the extended cab. We had no problem with a carseat and booster seat.

Hi and thanks for the info. Does this have 4 doors, or just the extra room/seat behind the front seats?

I know this is a little old but I thought I'd chime in... We have a Chevy Silverado extended cab and have put a baby bucket in it, rear facing Scenera, RF Britax Boulevard, and recently installed a Regent (the rear-facing started to get unmanageable- lifting her so high and then trying to tighten, besides, I wanted her out of the Scenera- the Blvd lives in my car) There is often an unusual way of routing the top tether for forward facing... definitely, car-seat.org will help you out!

We had an older Ford F-250 with the extended cab and had no problem installing a car seat/booster seat when DD was young. It was a pain in the butt to get her in and out. We eventually upgraded for a Dodge Ram quad cab with the real rear doors and seat but by then she was out of the booster.
