OT can you help with aso problem pls?

hi ds6 has aspergers, and has played football (soccer) since he was 3, mainly to help with his severe asthma.
his team have just turned around and said they will not sign hime due to the fact he will not concentrate, something we know is hard for our special kids...
i dont want him to loose out on this chance, as it is his thing, which stops his meltdowns, any ideas how i can help him concentrate and listen to his trainer, ive tried evrything i know and thought with all your collective experience you might give me some new insights

Are there no other teams? Is there somewhere else you can take him to play? Also, is it really legal for them to deny him the right to play given he has a medical issue? Is this not covered under the ASA? I have no idea, so I'm just asking, hoping someone who is more informed will respond.

I don't know about laws in the UK and whether there is anything in place to not discriminate against children with disabilities. If it was the US, it would be covered by the ADA.
Besides what travelitis wrote, I wonder, does the trainer know anything about Asperger's? Does he know that is the reason it is hard for your son to concentrate or does he think the child is just not interested in soccer enough to concentrate?

I have a friends who lives in the UK. They have a child with Asperger's so they are aware of the condition. The dad is also a football (soccer) coach. Here was his reply when I asked.

It is not illegal but 1. the coach should be aware of his problems and also the team 2. the team should have a child protection officer in place 3. the team should also have a commitee that these type of decisions have to go to
