Pixie Dust. DD fell and broke her foot- We leave for our cruise in 4 weeks. I think she is going to be in a cast for 4 to 6 weeks.

Thanks,
Shawna

Oh no! Sending :wizard: :wizard: & :grouphug: :grouphug: for you & your DD! Hoping for a speedy, speedy recovery--with the incentive of a Disney cruise to recover soon! :sunny:

Sending some extra special

Hoping for a speedy recovery. I can totally sympathize with you. My dd broke her arm about 2 weeks ago. Maybe the Disney Magic will get her spirits up and lead to a faster recovery. Good Luck and Best Wishes to get better soon.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Here's lots of pixie dust for you and DD! Can she get a Fracture Boot instead of a plaster cast? I broke my foot about 10 weeks before our Magic cruise last year. The Fracture Boot was great because I could take it off to take a shower. Also, once the swelling went down and I could get my foot into a running shoe, I could take the boot off and I was ok to drive. (It was my right foot.)

For speedy healing

I broke my foot years ago and was in a plaster cast to the knee for 4 1/2 weeks
I hope she heals Faster than that

Right now she is in a soft cast. We have to go to the ortho on Monday- I've called a friend who is a doctor and asked what my options are- she did not mention a fracture boot. I will have to ask. She did tell we I can ask for a water proof cast.
In my hast yesterday, I miss counted the number of weeks until we leave. We leave in five weeks, so she might be out of the cast by then.

S :)

:wizard: For your DD, hope she is dealing well with her boo*boo!

:tink: For you to help you deal with the boo*boo too...

It would be great if she didn't have the cast any longer, but the cruise will be great either way! :sail:

Lots of pixiedust headed your way!!!
I hope the ortho appointment on Monday gives you all good news...

Best of luck and pixie dust. I will say that on both cruises we have been on, there have been kids in the clubs with casts, splints, you name it. They still looked like they were having fun. So, worse case is hopefully just a few waterproof precautions. :grouphug: Please keep us all posted!

:wizard: :tink: I hope she feels better. I hope it works out for your vacation. When DS broke his wrist the orthopedist told us to get a xerosox. It is a sleeve that goes over the cast, it is made for arms and legs in various sizes. It has a waterproof vacuum seal and you can shower with it or even go swimming and the cast stays dry. I got his in a local surgical supply store and they run around $35 or so depending on the size, but it was sooo worth it! Here is a link to their website:

:wizard: from one broken foot to another! (my foot has 3 weeks left in an air cast, which if they'll give her one...it's great!) I hope she heals quickly and is out of it by your cruise!

DD got her cast this morning. It is purple. The docotr gave use good news- the break should heal in about three weeks. That way we are out of the cast before we go on the cruise. If it is not out of the cast, the doctor said we could put a water proof cast on it so that she can swim. So all in all, good news. Thanks for all the pixie dust!

Yeah!!

I am so glad you got a good prognosis. I know you are as relieved as a mom can be when a punkin with a broken arm.
