*OT-Calling all teachers, and parents...

I need some help in figuring out differnent activities that I can do with my five year old daughter which could also involve getting to know our DIS members who want to participate, and their state.

Our first project is called Where is Pickles, and Where is Pinky. It is similar to the Flat Stanley project, but we have two dolls making their way to different states. This way, my daughter will be able to learn the family, state, different places that our new friends will travel to....I think this is a great way for my little girl to learn new things since she can hear, see, learn with this project.

We had also in the past done a Hawaii box to a friend's kids that included info. and goodies, and we had gotten to know about their state. So, I want to stay away from this and, learn something different.

Can anyone think of different projects that are simple enough for a 5 year old to do, that is fun, and something that we can include others in helping us?

A lot of DIS kids have done the post cards from different states.
maybe with some state info on them.
is that something that might interest you....easy, and inexpensive.

Hmmm, I wonder if we could do something with food. We could send two or three Hawaii food products, and some written info. on Hawaii, and the other people participating could do the same from food from their state-(of course it would have to be child friendly food, nothing exotic since Shayla is a picky eatter). If anyone would be interested in doing this, let me know.

Pickles and Pinky are already making their rounds, so that project is more or less completed, on our end until they arrive back to us.
